I just made accout now,and i want to join this swap

I'm new to the site :) If partners aren't assigned, how do you know who to send to?

You won't know who to send to until partners are assigned. <.<

FOR THE NEWBIES The last day to sign up for this swap is July 31, 2012, so, usually about one to three days later, partners will be assigned by the contact or hostess of the swap. There will be notification when that happens (or you can check it yourself daily). Then you will go to the upper right hand corner of the page and there will be a light yellow box and one of the options is: See who is your send to partner. Click on it and it will bring up another smaller screen with your partners name and address on it. I print mine out so I can go to my partner's page and see their like's and dislike's. I also make notes on my printout about my partner so I don't have to keep coming back and re-reading it. Then when the swap is done, I write on it when I mailed it. When it is rated, I write that on it also so I will know it has been received. When you receive a swap it is very important to rate your received swap so your partner will know you received it. It is frustrating to send a swap and never have it rated. So all newbies, PLEASE RATE.

If someone could answer another question for me please... this says "Newbies with FILLED profiles are welcome" how filled do these need to be? I have something in the About Me, Books, and Movies sections. Is that sufficient? Sometimes when you sign up for something new it takes a bit to know what you want to have on your profile, you know?

Click a few users profiles. That should give you a pretty good indicator of what general ones look like. Over time here you can continue to customize it, but it should definitely be pretty informative. I probably won't check back, but if you need any more tips, feel free to send me a message and I will help if I can.

In my opinion "Books, Movies, Music" sections don't tell me diddly about what a person collects, likes or dislikes. I'm still not quite sure why those are default sections.

I just signed up for this swap and I'm new here. Any suggestions for a newbie on what a "good" postcard is? I want to be sure to get a good rating, so I'll mail promptly--but just in case there are certain things I should be aware of, I thought I'd ask!

Good is in the eye of the beholder. Each person likes different things. If you read the profile of the person you are sending too you often see a list of likes and dislikes. Click on my name and read my profile. It isnt all about Postcards since I do other things. But you wont be rated on whether the person liked your card, but will get a heart if they are giving hearts, cause they esp liked your mailing. You get a 5 for meeting the requirement of the swap. Since this is sender choice you will be fine. Some have themes of lighthouses, turtles... so read the requirement. Also if someone writes that they hate cat, postcard of course dont send them one.

I will be late posting my postcards!! Had to leave town unexpectedly and will not retun until Wednesday 8/8/2012. Purchased some really nice postcards onl;ine and they are to come in MOnday 8/612!! I am not a slacker nor a "flaker'!!
