Description:

For this swap you will send five (5) new, store bought postcards that are not written on (=>blank). It's sender's choice but try to send something nice that you would be happy to receive yourself!

The postcards should be:

  • new
  • store-bought (no freecards!)
  • not damaged
  • not yellowed or stained or otherwise not pristine
  • not something cut out of a postcard book (most collectors don't like that)
  • something you would like to receive yourself
  • sent in an envelope (securely)

You might want to check out your partners profile for preferences for what and what not to send. The swap remains sender's choice though!

To participate you have to have a rating of at least 4.9 and no '1' rating in the last four months.

I did not see a theme for this swap..can the postcards be any type?

I'm finding that senders choice postcard swaps are not always ideal as that means that you often get postcards that you don't collect or like. I much prefer, profile based swaps, as then I know I'll receive the postcards that I love and so will my partner. I'll definitely join any future profile based swaps (o:

@atinagrace The swap is sender's choice and so it's up to you what you want to send to your swap partner. I usually have a look at the profile to get an idea of what they would prefer

@rubyrose Thank you for your input. This is the first swap I've created here in a while and the sender's choice ones I did create in the past were fairly popular. Not everyone has a huge selection of postcards to choose from so I personally find it difficult to create a profile based swap. I do however create themed swaps as well. Those are easier to join when people know that when they join the swap they will certainly also have the kind of postcards required (for example, map cards, lighthouses, art...). There will be themed swaps coming upbefore too long. I'd also be happy for theme suggestions. :D

I really like artsy type of cards, not touristy but I like senders choice because you never know what you'll get! I've received really great cards under senders choice types as well as profile based;)

@agonysdecay Thank you for the feedback. I'm going to try and mix some artsy swaps into the mix soon. Just need to stock up first as the selection in my town is limited. :)

I like Senders choice because while I read the profiles and may be able to get 4 suitable pcs I may not get that last one. From what I receive from the choice of other senders I have had some lovely surprises I did know existed let alone have on my profile.

I like senders choice. It is very hard to find postcards of any sort here.So I often have to ask friends of mine to pick up a few.I even drive a distance to check a place. I went yesterday. Just to find out they have not re stocked in a while. The postcards were a buck ten each.I liked them because they were different.

Here with sender choice leaves out the stress of locating five profile based cards. Thanks for hosting :)

I think senders choice is some of the best. Some senders can read me better than I can read myself, or at least it seems when I get the lovely cards that are senders choice.

Maybe it is where I live or something, because we have so man scenic cards, and others send me things that are so much more interesting when it comes to senders choice.

Suggesting reading a profile and trying, bit not requiring going by that is the best way of swapping cards, in my opinion.

I'm liking all the comments on sender's choice. :D We've decided to do them more regularly as they prove popular and somewhat stressfree. Thanks so much for commenting everyone!!

I love Sender's Choice cards.... I just pass along the ones that don't fit my collection. And I always read my partner's profile and always try to at least include 1 of the type they collect.

SassyRose 03/24/2012 #

I don't have the kind of pc's i like but I do try to read my partner's profile before I send. Post cards are hard to find here so I ordered some. Some are terrible! I won't be sending them to anyone. Would like a good site to get pretty ones if anyone knows of one.

I enjoy themed PC swaps but also enjoy the sender's choice ones. I've received some great PCs in sender's choice swaps and have found most people read my profile and try to send something that will fit in BUT that's not always possible. I must say though that I've never received a horrible PC in a sender's choice swap!
