I am a Texan, born and raised. In July, I will be marrying my high school sweetheart of eight years. In August, we will be moving with our Lab mix, Luna, across state where I will be beginning my Master's in Social Work.

Even though I am passionate about my career, I love the idea of being a wife and homemaker. I spend a lot of time reading blogs about crafting, cooking and homemaking and recently (as in a couple of days ago!) started one of my own. I have the link here in my profile if you care to check it out.

Crafting My favorite crafts are crochet, cross-stitch and latch-hook. I also enjoy photography, sewing and zentangles. I've just recently begun artistic journaling and am interested in journal swaps and friendship books.

Recipes I love trying out new recipes and new cuisines!! I also love receiving said recipes on pretty cards. :) Just about anything you send I will love, but my favorite recipes include:

breakfasts slow cooker (crockpot) cakes, cupcakes and cookies spinach artichoke dips breads easy/fast meals restaurant copycat recipes pistachio butters / spreads shakes/smoothies

I am also always on the lookout for diabetic-friendly meals. I am not diabetic, but my mother is, and she seems to be of the mind that all food that is good for you has to taste bad. I try to send yummy recipes her way to remind her that she doesn't have to eat like a rabbit in order to stay healthy!

Tea, Cocoa and Coffee I love all kinds of tea, but my favorite is Chai. I also love recipes that use tea as a main ingredient. I love dark chocolate cocoa and strong arabica coffee, but like I said in my recipe section, I am always open to trying new things!

Books My favorite authors are Paulo Coelho and Kurt Vonnegut. A few of my favorite books are Executioner's Song by Norman Mailer, Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger, and the Harry Potter series. I have a very dry and dark sense of humor. It takes a lot to offend me, so don't even worry about adult themes, vocabulary, etc. I also love graphic novels, but I'm not a fan of anime or manga.

I also enjoy books about the following subjects: crafting, crochet, mystery, hauntings, cryptozoology, true crime, Kurt Cobain/Nirvana, the Zodiac killer, animals, vampires, werewolves, monsters, Unitarian Universalist, paganism, and wicca.

Music I love all types of music, but I mostly listen to Alternative. I'm always looking for new or additional bands/singers to check out, so feel free to send suggestions my way! My favorite bands are Blue October, Nirvana, Creed, Seether, Matchbox Twenty, and Alanis Morrissette. I also enjoy some folksy music, such as Nickel Creek and Mumford and Sons.

Movies I'm not a huge movie buff, but I loveloveLOVE Kevin Smith and Disney movies. I am a HUGE Clerks fan and collect memorabilia. I am not a huge fan of horror or gore. It doesn't particularly bother me - I'm just not into it.

Please, though, no dog treats. I'm sure that everyone here is a great person, but I don't feed Luna anything that I have not bought or made myself :) I do appreciate recipes for doggie treats, though!

Additional Notes I do have a dog, Luna. She is a whippet/Lab mix and she does, unfortunately, shed like crazy. I always make sure that no dog fur goes out with my packages, but if you are deathly allergic to animal dander, it would probably be a good idea to not swap with me. Other than that, there is no smoking, etc in my home, so there shouldn't be any other problems for swappers with allergies.
