I especially like music from the 60's and 70's, folk music, Kate Rusby, Iron and Wine, Bob Dylan. I've been a Beatles fan for most of my life, and I love classical guitar.
I listen to books on tape/CD all the time, usually mysteries. One of my daughters works in the library so she chooses my books on CD. She knows what I like! I also like sci fi, thrillers, and gothic romances, "The Cat Who.."books, Alexander McCall Smith books, travel books of Bill Bryson, Harry Potter.
Please feel free to say "Merry Christmas" as I understand the friendly nature of the greeting, independent of the religious reference. I have been married for 44 years and we have 3 daughters and two grandsons, none of which are still local, sadly. We consider ourselves Californians, but have been living near Kansas City, Missouri since 1988~ I do like the seasons, and would not go back to San Diego even given the chance. I enjoy visiting the family there, though! We live in a big Victorian-style house on a hill with two acres- part of which is woods. There's always a breeze, and that driveway can be a challenge after a sleet storm!
History Channel, Discovery Channel, bicycle racing like Tour de France, TV from the BBC
I have been a handspinner for over 45 years. I also sew, knit, and weave. I make knitted garments and weave blankets from handspun, and I enjoy random creative sewing. I am a gardener and have several gardens here- a veggie garden, a rose garden, an orchard, several flowerbeds and a greenhouse. This year I'm starting a new hobby- keeping bees! I really like to have new gardening gloves on a regular basis, and flower seeds, fertilizer, gardening magazines or articles or websites are welcome. Also welcome are ideas involving poultry in the backyard-
I am a wildlife rehabilitator in my county here in Missouri, and I take in orphaned baby raccoons during the breeding season. In 2019, I had 28 bottle babies here at once! Getting 4 bottles each, per day. They graduate to a bowl of soaked puppy chow with fruit cocktail twice per day when they get to be about a pound and a half in weight. When they can eat dry puppy chow, they go to the outdoor rehabbers who keep them in big pens until they're 16 weeks old- then out into the woods they go! There are 3 cats and 2 dogs that live in my house, they graciously allow me and my husband to live here too, provided we reach down the food for them. I also have 7 chickens in the backyard, and 10 beehives.
I volunteer at the local animal shelter once a week, feeding and cleaning up after about 40 cats- we are a no-kill shelter, and some cats have been with us all their lives. When I can, I spend some time helping out at the wildlife hospital where I get my baby raccoons- Lakeside Nature Center, Kansas City. I usually bring my camera, because we get bobcats, coyotes, vultures, foxes, eagles, owls, possums as well as raccoons- fun!
I am fond of bee, raccoon and chicken themed items. I love ATCs, you can always send me one of those! Also chocolate, candy, crunchy salty snacks, wool yarn, anything with a spinning wheel on it, anything with a bee or a sheep on it. I love lightly scented soap and lotions. Also coffee, gnomes, fairies and elves, gardening gloves, Europe, cats, colors in the blue-to-purple-to pink range, small scissors, Nag Champra incense, new teatowels, cute socks, mittens. Black tea or cocoa is appreciated, any type of sweet or salty snack too, but not hot spicy please. I enjoy trying new things and am not picky! I am not allergic to anything. I do celebrate the usual American holidays, no religious affiliation, I'm a non-smoker. If you like it, I will like it!

Haha a cheesybob is just one of 40 names we have for a woodlouse! It depends where in the country you come from, some places call them cheeselogs, I have no idea, we are a tiny island after all, must entertain ourselves somehow! There's a funny article here: BBC America

Aw, thank you for the dress-up box that came today! She liked best the while hat with flower. Besides the pretty box itself, of course - I'm afraid she is still in box-liking age!
Hi Wendy! Thank you sooo much for the sparkly door with wreath and scottie dog Christmas card for my AATW December wish. I love it and will be perfect for display.
