Hmmmm.....not really sure what to say here....obviously I like having surprises in my mailbox, or I wouldn't be here. I'm married with two furkids, a Cairn Terrier and a kitty who just appeared at our house last year. No human children (by choice). I teach writing. Don't let the black clothes and eyeliner scare you! I promise not to bite! :) Tree hugging dirt worshipper. Crazy Wal-Mart hater.

If a mental health professional ever gets a glimpse of my music collection, I'll be promptly diagnosed with multiple personality disorder. Evanescence and Eminem just don't belong in the same collection. I'll take my 80s hair bands to the nursing home with me! When Def Leppard Adrenalize doesn't wake me up in the morning, I'll know I'm dead. I also still love 80s New Wave. The Doors, Pink Floyd, Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker, Seether, Linkin Park, Thriving Ivory, Meredith Brooks, if I go on, we'll be here until Christmas. I don't listen to any country. At all. Ever. Extremely limited tolerance for southern rock. Current Pandora stations -- Seether Radio, Bauhaus Radio, Stromkern Radio.

I have a literature degree. This could get loooong. As a quick beginning, I concentrated in 19thC Brit Lit in college. I like the Bronte sisters metric tons more than Jane Austen. The best research paper I ever wrote was on Bleak House by Charles Dickens. For more modern stuff, I love Kris Radish and Lyndsay Sands. I read tons of nonfiction on topics like decorating, getting organized, reducing stress, herbs & aromatherapy, etc.

I never met a Johnny Depp movie I didn't like. Depp/Burton collaborations get a bonus star. We have a whole shelf of vampire movies. I do like chick flicks, but I also like action movies, particularly the ones with guy candy lead actors. I also own far more kids movies than one would expect -- favorites are Ferngully and Finding Nemo. I've been known to gather all my houseplants in front of the television for a Ferngully/Medicine Man double feature. Helps them grow. ;)

I mentioned art time the other day, and the person I was talking to said, "Do you draw or paint or what?" My response -- "I glue." Technically I suppose I do paint, but I'm sure that spray painting stuff black before I start gluing wasn't what she meant! :P

As soon as I finish the spring semester, I'm going to war against the clutter here at Casa de Chaos. I hope to pass along many, many no longer wanted treasures to the local Humane Society thrift shop.

Update #1 -- dropped off 125 VHS tapes yesterday (5/22) Sad thing is, that's not all of them.

Colors -- nice, dark, Gothy black, purples, reds, greens, navy blues. Except for socks. With socks, the brighter and wilder the better. Generally my entire outfit is black except for a pair of crazy socks. I'm especially fond of bright pink socks.

Skelanimals, slightly cute skull n crossbones (such as ones with heart shaped eyes) but not so cute that it wouldn't raise an eyebrow if a toddler were wearing it, other slightly cute/slightly horrible Gothy characters/motifs.

Dragonflies Gargoyles Candles, esp minicandles Black cats

Scents -- I mostly like spicy, resiny scents like frankincense, myrrh, patchouli, cinnamon, cloves, sandalwood and such. If it smells like a headshop, I'll probably love it. I burn stick incense like crazy. Love the sandalwood scent candles from Target.

Finding something in my mailbox that isn't a bill.

Anything related to Greek dieties, esp Aphrodite and Dionysus

I collect fortune cookie fortunes.

Scents -- super sweet smells, cigarette/cigar smoke (pipe tobacco doesn't bother me), coffee (even a hint of coffee smell makes me gag)

Country-type decor -- ducks with bows around their necks, roosters, pink and blue plaid, etc, etc.

Artificial sweeteners give me horrid headaches, even the amount in a stick of sugar-free gum.
