Hello. I am Olena Spicer. I have been doing some form of paper crafting for 17 years or so. It started with stamping, grew into swapping altered tags and ATCs and exchanging mailart. Currenty, I am mostly into art journaling, ATCs, zines and mailart in general (including postcards). I have done some junk journals as well. I like a lot of different styles (except probably overly cute). I do a lot of mixed media, I like using stamping and vintage ephemera (whether real or reproductions, for example Tim Holtz). I like "art-y" stuff. I have many examples of my art on instagram (linked above). I look forward to participating in swaps.

My 2021 word of the year is 'within'. The symbol I am using for within is a snail with its spiral shell, or a spiral in general.

These are some themes I like: Sun/Moon; Celestial and Astrology; Space and Universe; Fortune telling/Witchy/Magic (when it comes to art, rather than practicing); Frida Khalo; Mermaids; Travel; Paris; Coffee; Seasonal; Halloween; Nature; Birds; Botanical; Blackout poetry; Vintage (using real vintage ephemera or reproductions); Stitching (on paper as a way to embellish); Interactive (folds, flaps, etc); Unusual shapes (for example ATCs in the shape of a house, arched top, etc)

I like many different styles, even when they differ from my own, but I appreciate quality work, effort, and neatness :) I am always up for personal swaps, especially ATCs, zines, and pocket letters.

My most favorite mail to receive, all in one decorated envelope, would be: a postcard (commercial or handmade) with your note on the back, an ATC, and a zine.

But again, I would be happy with anything you send :)

Frida Kahlo/ Gustav Klimt/ Dali/ Monet/ Alphonse Mucha

My favorite director of all times is Pedro Almodovar (Spain); I like foreign movies in general; Eric Rohmer is another favorite director (France). I do like Woody Allen... I like mysteries, movies such as "DaVinci Code", "Angels and Demons" and "Inferno". Some other favorites are "The Ninth Gate", "The Tourist", "The Grand Budapest Hotel", "The Mummy", "Dark Shadows"... this is just a super-tiny and not all-representative sampling. I like comedies and romantic comedies, sci-fi... I like many series as well, again, just way too many to list... "Twin Peaks", "Stranger Things", "Big Bang Theory", "Friends", "X-Files"... Studio Ghibli movies...
