Hello, fellow swappers! My name is Melinda and I am a single mom of 3 kids, 2 (a son 17 and a daughter 13) who still live at home and a 28 yr old son who just got married to sweetheart of 9 yrs. I live in Portland, Oregon. I just love crafting! Unfortunately, I have not been able to do much of it at all over the past 6 years. One of my at home kids is a son that has numerous medical issues and I have devoted most of my energy into his needs. I am slowly getting back into my creative zone and was very happy to find this site. I look forward to swapping with you.

Ok, I thought I would just lump all of this in one group for now.

Not a coffee drinker, but really like my soy chai latte from Starbucks. Not into any of the microbrews which there are so many of here in Portland. More a tea or coke a cola addict.

Color choices: bright colors, jewel colors and greens/browns.

Movies: I enjoy almost any movie. I do not have a favorite genre, I'll watch most anything.I watch them at the theater, at home, at family, at friends, in the park. Let's just say I watch movies anywhere.

I love musicals and live theater. I try to go to these every chance I can get. Nothing like old showtunes, Rogers & Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Music: Again, I'll listen to most anything, however, I am not particularly a fan of jazz or blues. I also listen to conservative talk radio from time to time because I hear the liberal view on the news and feel I need to balance and hear both sides to form an opinion.

Gardening: I have a flower garden that is trying to become a cottage garden. I really like perennials.This year, I am going to plant a vegetable garden. I have had vegetable gardens in the past, but it has been a few years.

Reading: I love mysteries, crime stories and thrillers. I devour craft books. I read some non-fiction, usually biographies.

Living in the Pacific Northwest, you can't help but love the outdoors. I enjoy the beach and the mountains, but not the desert areas.

Our pet situation has been almost every kind you can have over all the years. However, currently, we have 4 chickens (we live in the city!), 1 small dog, 1 cat and a new kitten, 4 parakeets and 1 lovebird (the birds belong to my daughter). I tell people that I am slowly getting rid of kids and pets.
