My name is Macarena and I'm 31 years old. I'm a photographer and I have a master in conservation of cultural heritage, so I'm interested in all things patrimonial. I'm also a bookbinder; I make all kinds of notebooks and photo albums and I'm always tring new techniques and looking for new materials for my work. I also love to bake, I like to try new recipes all the time. I'm a vegetarian.

I live in Chile therefore I speak spanish. I also speak english and I'm taking french classes so I'm learning french. I love languages and I hope to learn more in the future.

I've been living with my boyfriend for almost 10 months and what I've liked the most about that is decorating our new apartment. I love plants, I have them everywhere, I think they really make the place more alive. My favorites are succulents, cactus and carnivorous plants.

I used to have penpals in the past, almost 10 years ago actually, and I want to start again and I think swap bot is the best way, I assure you that if I'm participating in your swap I read all the rules and I am following them. I live in a country far away from others so please expect my packages/letters/postcards to arrive a little later than others you've received in the past (but I assure you you will receive them :D).

My favorite genre of films is horror, I love horror movies, I've watched lots of them. My favorite director is Alfred Hitchcock and my favorite movie of his is Psycho. Another favorite director of mine is Stanley Kubrick. I also like asian horror, especially korean and japanese because I think some of the most original horror movies I have seen are asian. But I like american and other countries' horror films too. I like classics like Rosemary's Baby and other 80's sagas like Nightmare on Elm Street.

I also like science fiction, documentaries, musicals and some dramas. One of my favorite musicals is Hedwig and the Angry Inch, I also love The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I do not like overly girly films and I don't watch much comedy (even though there are some that I have really liked).

My favorite actress of all times is Greta Garbo and second favorite is Marlene Dietrich.

I don't have a favorite author but I like to read a lot, I specially like suspense, crime and also science fiction genres. I'm not a big fan of drama or romance. Right now I'm reading Thomas Harris's Red Dragon and I plan to read the rest of the Hannibal saga (I read Silence of the Lambs a long time ago). I like Stephen King's books too.

My most favorite tv show at the moment is Hannibal, I love everything about it. Another show I'm watching and I like a lot is American Horror Story. I'm also waiting for new seasons of The Walking Dead and Homeland. Shows I've liked in the past that are already over are Breaking Bad, Dexter and Six Feet Under. And one of my favorites when I was young was The X Files, I hope I can watch the entire series again.

I don't watch sitcoms. My favorite tv channel is Investigation Discovery.

Bookbinding! It's my favorite thing ever, I wish I could just stop doing what I do now and work in my books only, I also wish I could take more bookbinding courses, I just love to learn from people who know a lot.

I like to make pop up things like cards. I like pop up books as well.

One of my favourite artists is David Bowie, I also love the 70s glam rock era, T Rex, Roxy Music, Lou Reed, etc.

Things I like that I didn't mention up there (and some I don't like):

• Paper! I love to find new papers for my notebooks, papers with small designs, papers with animals, papers with art deco designs, papers with flowers, etc, all kinds of papers work for me. I also like pretty fabrics to cover notebooks with and other bookbinding materials.

• Tea! I really like tea, all kinds of tea, tea with flavor, my favorite is actually a type of tea called "christmas tea" that smells of ginger, cinnamon, orange... it's just perfect. There is one ingredient in tea that I do not like at all and that's bergamot, its smell and flavor are way too strong, no bergamot for me!

• Chocolate! The most delicious thing in the world. I like milk chocolate and dark chocolate, but not extremely dark. I like nuts covered in chocolate and other dry fuits covered in chocolate (not raisins though!).

• Seasonings! I like to cook and bake and I like to add a lot of seasonings to everything I make. Cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, etc etc etc. Seasonings for food too, but not for meat because I'm a vegetarian.

• Berets, scarves, mittens. Knitted and crocheted things, I don't knit nor crochet but I have many berets and scarves and I have bought small crocheted pictures which I love.

• Miniatures: I love miniature animals, miniature houses, miniature everything!

• Notebooks: I love to make them and I also love to buy them and I always keep one with me to write notes.

• Photography: I'm a photographer so I like everything that has to do with cameras, I especially like toy cameras like the Holga and also polaroid type cameras la the Instax.

• Postcards: I really don't have a favorite type of postcard so I leave you the responsability to choose the postcard you're going to send me. I guess after reading my likes and dislikes and all the other personal info you can make some conclusions as to what type of postcard I'd like :) I think I'd be happy with something handmade and also with something about the place (country, city) you live in.
