Hi! I'm Alyssa but I prefer to be called Lyss, and I love making ATCs and other sorts of miniature art. I'm not real crafty, but I enjoy illustration quite a lot, and I'd like to go to school for that profession, as well as Fashion design or Graphic Design, or perhaps even Sequential Art, etc!

I enjoy all sorts of art, and I express that through my ATCs. Mostly, though, you'll find that my art and tastes in such are very anime or cartoon styled. I like bright, poppy, colorful things as well as, dark, mysterious, even gory things.

Everything goes, though, and I enjoy trying new things more than anything.

I also very much enjoy sending letters back and forth, and I think handwritten mail is the best. It's always exciting to find a little something in your mailbox, right? Like Christmas any day of the year, it's something to look forward to. With my letters, I like to send lots of little things like stickers, and tea, and usually I'll throw in lots of little doodles too!

I'm actually a very quiet and shy person, though I often interject little humorous bits into conversation.

Like my art tastes, I really enjoy almost anything! I love love love electronic music, especially avant-garde stuff. I can also really get into classic rock, and current pop, and all kinds of stuff. I like anything except for maybe country (ugh. Sorry!) or hardcore rap.

My top five favorite artists/groups in no particular: Interpol, The Cure, Duran Duran, the Gorillaz, and Placebo.

Speaking of music, I also like to sing a lot! I haven't really gotten around to mastering any instruments yet, but I have a secret yearning to play bass guitar.

BOOKS. I love books. Books, above all, are the loves of my life.

To be general, I love Harry Potter, all Science Fiction (Ender's Game, Ray Bradbury, more contemporary stuff etc), serial killer fiction (American Psycho, others), Asian Literature Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, The Hunger Games, well, okay, just about anything. I have TOO MANY favorite books to list! But if I had to pick one, I would have to say The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub.

I love to talk books, most of all! I really want to find swaps where I can talk about books, and find new books to read.

Okay, so movies are the second love of my life (lol)

I watch everything, and I love talking about movies too!!

Some of my favorites (and I will continue to add to this list as time goes on!): Inglourious Basterds, Interview With The Vampire, Fight Club, The Prestige, Moulin Rouge, Rocky Horror Picture Show, superhero movies, especially X-Men First Class, ALL of Tim Burton's films, as well as David Lynch's films, and MANY, MANY more!!

I have an extreme adoration for Disney and for Studio Ghibli. Animated movies are lovely.

I think the only types of movies that I don't like are the movies that are supposed to be "romantic," or "inspirational," etc. I'm not into sappy stuff!

I don't watch a lot of television, but right now I'm addicted to American Idol for some reason.

I love: LOST, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Supernatural, C.S.I, Criminal Minds, Twin Peaks, and others.

(I also love cartoons, if that counts! Old Cartoon Network stuff like Pokemon, the Powerpuff Girls, and Dexter's Lab, as well as newer stuff like Adventure Time and MLP: Friendship is Magic!)

As for Anime, I love Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Kuroshitsuji, FLCL, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Code Geass, Cardcaptor Sakura (anything related to CLAMP, really), and above all, Sailor Moon! (and, of course, many many more.)

Anime is one of the largest influences on my younger self. My dad was always into comic books and such, and totally supported my nerdy little love. Anime is one of the reasons I started, and continued, to draw. It's not such a large part of my life now, but I do enjoy it!

Other things I enjoy are learning about history, military uniforms, photography, and cosplaying.

For those of you who don't know what cosplaying is, it's like Halloween for any day-- it's dressing up as your favorite characters from television shows, movies, comics, etc. to events such as conventions and meet-ups, and it's a lot of fun! Some people also like to take pictures and act in character, but mostly I just like the idea of dressing up in cool character designs and making the costumes and such. I really wish I could sew, though! So that's something I'm looking forward to learning, as well.

I'm also a Homestuck fan, which is a webcomic like nothing ever created, and I create art for that series and also cosplay a few characters!
