I'm a hausfrau and writer and trying-to-contemplate my dissertation doctoral student. I live in a 150-year-old row house in a pretty tree-lined neighborhood in Brooklyn with my husband, daughter, and Rescue Ridgeless Ridgeback, Remus (how's that for alliteration?).

Favorite Crafts

Crochet and knitting, beading, bead knitting, hand sewing (especially making dolls and animals out of felt, complete with little outfits), decorating matchboxes, zentangle atcs.

Favorite Books

We have a huge library of thousands of books in our house--I treasure several of my sub-collections: cookbooks, knitting and crochet books, ghost stories, children's and young adult books, and poetry books.

My favorite poet of the moment is Allen Ginsberg. My favorite writers of all time are Rosamond Lehmann, Laura Ingalls Wilder, and Shirley Jackson. My favorite illustrator is Trina Schart Hyman. And I love the book "Wisconsin Death Trip."

  2. Anything related to Severus Snape and Slytherin House (I always say that I'm a Slytherin disguised as a Ravenclaw)

  3. POSTCARDS (strange, ugly, vintage, lovely)

  5. Kawaii (I'm not picky, I just love cute and strange and funny)

  6. Yarn--saturated colors, nice textures

  7. Anything knitting or crochet-related (patterns, stitchmarkers, etc.)

  8. Vintage cooking pamphlets

  9. Buttons!

10 Ribbon

  1. Fabric squares or remnants and trim

  2. Anything related to Tintin, Moomin, Donald Duck, Scrooge McDuck

  3. Lip gloss and lotion and other bath products.

  4. COFFEE!!! (caffeinated and non-flavored)

  5. HANDMADE by you! I love to receive handmade items, whatever your special skill!

  6. Beads

  7. Vintage textiles

Leah: Thanks for your rating of my postcards. I am attempting to make a ballband dishcloth. I found a youtube video showing how to do it, but it's in another language. I can still follow. I'm a visual person, so I need something like that. I am also left-handed.,......just to add an additional challenge. Thanks for posting pictures on Flickr.
