I'm a 24-year-old who suffers from serious wanderlust. I love studying languages, meeting new people, writing letters and postcards, traveling anywhere and everywhere, public health, infectious diseases, and baking.

I recently got married (October 2010 in Okinawa, Japan). My husband is currently deployed to Afghanistan, and I'm counting down the days until he gets home! We love traveling, trying new foods, watching animated films, and playing Scrabble.

Currently I'm working as a substitute teacher, but I can't wait to start graduate school in September. I'll be doing a Masters of Public Health program with a focus on bioterrorism readiness and prevention.

I love Jeanette Winterson, Margaret Atwood, Kazuo Ishiguro, and Barbara Kingsolver. I'm trying to read all the books on the various top 100 books lists. I try to always read one non-fiction book (usually health or science...occasionally history) along with a fiction book.

I love watching reruns of NCIS, CSI, and Criminal Minds. I also watch How I Met Your Mother, Outsourced, and Big Bang Theory.

My favorite movies include: Amelie, C.R.A.Z.Y., The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Holiday. Really, though, I love any movie - my standards are very low, haha. I just like to be entertained.

I love bright colors (especially pink and purple), glittery and sparkly things, foreign languages, Hello Kitty, Disney, cartoons of germs, and any sort of cute cartoon character. When it comes to postcards, I love vintage/retro, quirky, black and white, and artistic postcards. For tourist postcards, I prefer ones that have just one photo instead of multi-view ones.

When it comes to food, I have no allergies and no real dislikes. :)
