I'm a professional student who enjoys long walks on the beach, annotating genomes, and rocking out. I study astrobiology (nerd power!). I am open-minded and willing learn/try new things. I truly appreciate the absurd and bizarre. Cephalopods are the coolest eukaryotic animals ever. I love the smell of old books (and new ones too!). I swear too much. Go Gators!

I enjoy all types of music. I don't have a specific genre that I am partial to. I love to discover new artists and bands through recommendations from people. The last three concerts I've been to: Meatloaf, Reel Big Fish, Dar Williams

Growing up I was a big fan of Ann M. Martin, and I went through an awkward Anne McCaffery phase. Nowadays I read all sorts of things from bodice rippers to peer-reviewed literature to graphic novels. I am a total Neil Gaiman fangirl and I adore Jane Austen. I also love me some Alan Moore and Frank Miller.

I love movies. Sometimes nothing beats snuggling up on my couch to watch a Jane Austen adaptation or seeing the midnight premier of the big blockbuster. I am a HUGE fan of Star Wars and sci-fi/fantasy movies. I also enjoy Will Ferrell movies even though he plays the same character in every one. I don't know why some people hate on animated movies. Subs over dubs any day.

My first true fandom was seaQuest followed closely by the X-files. I miss Arrested Development and the Dave Chappell Show. I am not ashamed to admit that I loved Footballers Wives. I clear my Wednesday nights for Pushing Daisies, Private Practice, and Dirty Sexy Money. The new 90210 isn't bad, but the OC was much better. I've tried to quit Grey's Anatomy,but I always get sucked back in. I learn a lot from watching Nova. I also enjoy the Simpsons and pretty much everything on a cartoon network.

I'm a foodie, although I don't like to cook that much. I do enjoy baking, especially if frosting is involved. I like making cupcakes and cookies. I believe candy is an essential food group. I have not met a chocolate I didn't like and I love gummies. I also do not like seafood, although I keep trying it hoping that I will. I enjoy trying different kinds of tea including bubble tea. I drink waaaaay to much diet soda and iced coffee.

I really need to make more time for crafts! I enjoy doing multi-media projects. I'm re-introducing myself to crochet and would like to learn knitting. I also want to do cross-stitch so I can make obscene wall hangings for my friends. I also want to do some glass-etching. I've started to collect funky fabric pieces in hopes I can improve my sewing skills.
