I am a mother of 2 children children (6 and 12 years old) who often try to monopolize my time at once.

The thing I am liking best about swaps is that there is a deadline for things and that means I will be getting things done and out because I hate to disappoint people especially when they don't know me.

I have "been many things" and "tried even more" but often now wife and mother is plenty enough.

I am trying to be vegetarian and learning a new way to cook right now. So I am looking for recipe swaps. Although I have a passion for making cookies see my cooking blog above.

Beyond all that I Love Sci and Fantasy both TV and Books, I like to play games although I own with my husband hundreds.

My latest tag line and probably most accurate is:

I am me. I am often oblique without direction or purpose.

I came into my music awareness in the 1980s. My musical tastes are based on that, My exploration of late 1960s and 1970s music a swell as a heavy dose of folk and blues in college.

Needless to say I have a broad range in what I like as music.

I like crafts!

I try many things.

My current list of things are:

Knitting, Sewing and soft sculpture, Stamped images, Collage, Cooking, and Writing.

I love to create.

I am an avid reader. I read a lot of different genres. I find I can enjoy things as heavy and full as the Lord of the Rings and as light and full of fluff as Twilight. I have been also reading memoirs (Just a Geek by Wil Wheaton) and food philosophy (Omnivore's Dilemma).

I have many many books. The idea of a book swap both frightens me and intrigues me.

Some of my favorie authors are: Douglas Adams, Anne McCafferty, JRR Tolkien, Lyda Moorehouse/Tate Halloway (more will be added when I am near to my books)

I am allergic to Pineapple - a crazy allergy I know but not at all fun.

As noted before I am working on vegetarianism so if in a recipe swap keep this in mind. I am eating eggs dairy and fish.

I am NOT a girly girl. I am not fond of frills or pink. That being said I am a huge supporter of Susan B Komen. My mother is fighting breast cancer and my paternal grandmother was a survivor.

I love tea but I am a tea snob. I was recently at a breakfast buffet and I had my husband go get me a cup of hot water and a tea bag all they had was Lipton Black tea. I thought Oh well I can drink this...Nope it was bad.

I am not a coffee drinker in fact I don't even like coffee flavored things. I like some mochas but I get a head ache from them.

I have a huge sweet tooth but I avoid fake sugars...most substitutes will make me feel hung over and head-achy - I suppose they dry me out or something.

My husband and kids do eat meat an I will cook it for them so don't feel bad if you don't have a good veggie recipe for me if we are in a swap. You will get a heart if I surmise that you realized that I am a vegetarian and work to get me a recipe that is appropriate.
