I'll continue with the STATES (USA) in Feb. TN is the next State I'll be posting. Future years will do sunset/rise, b&w, palm tree, boat/ship, bird PC swaps. This year doing man, woman, moon, & insect. For WIYM-SPELL xxx with pcs

11 July- finally made first attempts at sewing clothing! Made my first dress and two shirts from a pretty easy New Look pattern.

25-Aug made a Hawaiian Muumuu from a vintage Hawaiian pattern and some beautiful tropical cotton print(from Gertie)! Turned out nicely!

2/16 I forget if I already have this but I use strange blank greeting cards-of any topic- to send blank pcs in pc scavenger hunt. Sorry in advance if you receive PCs in a Christmas card in March, for example, because you will! Love thrift store finds.

1/9 finally found my "project" for English Paper Piecing- I'll use feed sack cotton, mostly in an aqua theme with other small smattering of colors and whites to make a lap sized, 1" hexagon quilt... calculations show the need for almost 1700 hexagons...does that mean I've finished my machine quilts? Of course not, don't be silly. Also attempting to make myself a few clothing items pj pants, sweater jacket, poncho, wrap blouse and a few dresses...not sure if I'll be able to wear them in public or just in my backyard hidden away from the world! We'll see.. also bought a cute orange thistle flour sack to make a kitchen curtain!

Jan '18 machine quilting update...my king size is sandwiched, quilted, just waiting for me to square it and put on the binding...it's been waiting on next since October... In the meantime I've also sandwiched and quilted a quilt that is give or take lap throw sized with cute woodsy large sized blocks. Guess what? It's been waiting for me to square and bind it since November. 3rd quilt I only have the top made, but I have the backing, batting and binding ready, too. It is for a full sized bed, my guest bed. I actually started based on a swap series I was in here a few years back with diagonal running little squares. Only a few blocks we're from partners, most I made. I'll find the swap name and put it here sometime. 4th quilt is with winter and Christmas fabrics with a white star shape in each block. All pieces cut out, backing will be pieced with other winter/Christmasy fabrics I don't like as much. One block is sewn together but all the pieces just waiting. I believe I cut them out May 2016, lol, anyway... 5th & 6th quilts I have fabrics purchased, patterns organized, backing purchased or organized but nothing cut yet which is best!!

2018 update...Still happily buying from the same dairy, didn't end up buying into a CSA yet. Found one I really like but summer travels get in the way...I don't think that one let's you go on vacation hold at no cost like the dairy...Search continues.

10/20/16 reducing groups I'm in so I can get serious about finishing quilts I have completed the tops of and cross-stitching a huge art deco Christmas pattern I started 3-4 years ago then set aside and haven't picked up. 2018-making progress on quilts but still haven't continued that large cross stitch...

What I'm most excited about for 2016-we started buying raw milk, yogurt, cheese, and eggs from a local dairy! And sometimes other products such as eggs and meats. Currently looking into CSAs that delivery nearby and hopefully I will have some farm fresh veggies to go along with the animal products late this spring. I am aware that my photos bleed into all the info on the right and it is on my mind to fix it when I stop procrastinating logging into my old photobucket account where these pictures are located. So one day, I will make them smaller....but when...so in the meantime I moved all the photos and babble about me to the next section.

Not my favorites: seafood, pastel colors, small print flowers, evangelistic and/or proselytizing text. (I am fascinated and genuinely interested in saints, history of the Catholic church, architecture and art with churches or other religious buildings but I am very much a non-practicing Catholic). I do prefer to host and join "sender's choice" so if something falls in the swap category but is on my not my favorite, no big deal! The surprise of it all is the fun of sender's choice.

I am a Math Nerd married (18 years) to a wonderful Computer Nerd. I'm a bicentennial baby(now you know my age!), born in the year of the Dragon, and I'm a Leo on the cusp of Virgo. We have two dogs now, as one just passed, Katie, was a 17-year-old black Cockapoo(9/21/99--2/18/17). She was probably about 5yo in the photo. Goliath, a 7-year-old grey Tibetan Terrior, probably about 1-3yo in the photo. and Chanel, a 17.5-year-old white and tan Havanese! She now has no teeth left and her tongue hangs out all crazy. She is probably about 6 in the photo and Katie behind her was about 7.

We also have a huge pleco named Jesus, maybe 12-15 years old, and a rescued red-eared-slider named Edna. She is more than 20 years old.

I've started my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th quilts (1st was 21-20 years ago - machine quilting with my Nana(grandma)) this one is also machine quilting - with a little help from Nana, again! And now I've started a couple other quilts through groups here on Swap-bot. In other words-quite a few quilt tops and as soon as I get determined enough I will do the layering and the quilting. One I finished last summer, a baby quilt for my husband's cousin's first baby. I'm pretty new to sewing but I enjoy sewing a lot. I've made a few things here using my machine - dotee doll, little stuffed animals, a couple of plushies. Also in Feb. I started attending a once monthly English Paper Piecing quilt group! I've made a couple of hexagon shaped flowers but no big projects on the horizon until I get those other machine quilts completed.
