Hi My name is Denise, I live in Ottawa, Canada, I speak English and French, I am a mother to three talented and creative men. I have two cats, Jasper and Roo. I work full time in the not-for-profit sector. I like to travel and explore different cultures; music, dance art, food and drinks (wine & scotch). I love cats, the mountains, trees, flowers and the ocean. I have a real preference for the colour blue. Even though purple has never done me any harm, I dislike purple. While I may grumble in February about the winter and the cold, I still marvel at the change of the seasons here in CANADA. I am happy to send a card for whatever reason, but especially to lift people's spirits and recognize my gratitude of friends and family in my life.

I am an avid paper crafter; ATCs, junk journals, collage, scrapbooks and handmade postcards and cards. I started by doing scrapbooks for my boys, trips and family events. I collect designer papers, way to many papers. I really should use them up before buying more. I collect odd bits of paper to create junk journals. I like to create handmade postcards and send them out. I like to receive any kinds of PC, naked with a note. I like to read Paper Crafter and Make Special Cards magazine. I really like these because I like to reproduce great designs. I like to create cards to celebrate my family, friends and colleagues with personalized cards. I am a bit obsessed with creating and collecting ATCs. I am fascinated with all the art, expressions and sentiments you can pack into a 2.5x3.5 space. I am captivated with the ATCs I receive as they are so different and wonderful.

I am exploring collage and watercolours. I used to do a lot of sewing, but that is a past-time that I will pick up again later. But I still have a stash of fabric that waits silently for me to return.

I listen to indie music. I like the Killers, Sting, Pink, and a lot of artists from the 80s and 90s. I listen to a lot of Canadian artist. Canadian Groups; Billy Talent, Blue Rodeo, Great Big Sea, Sam Roberts, Bahamas, Kathleen Edwards, Half Moon Run, Tragically Hip, Coeur de pirate, Arkells, Metric.

Spring 2020 - Working on a SWAP and receiving handmade pieces of art has been so comforting to me in these long weeks of social distancing. It makes me happy to be sharing with other crafty people.Take care, be well, and stay strong everyone.
