so randomly giving people information is uncomfortable for me, I'm not shy and I have no shame, I just feel like I'm having a one sided conversation. I love getting stuff in the mail, I love the random in life, this seems like a good way to find both!
I lack any real concept of time, 10 min's can translate to last week, 5 years ago can be yesterday and I have to do math to remember how old I am. Sticky notes are my addiction and how I get things done on time!
I'm not subtle, it's not that I don't know how to be, it's just too time consuming and it's too easy to misconstrue, I sugar coat nothing and have been called aggressively blunt more than once. Since I really dislike repeating myself I figure that it's my way of helping to save lives...
I love music and my tastes are rather random, I love the sound of bagpipes, the loud mess of punk, the seamless journey of classical and the soul baring of blues. I like music. Not so much country (unless it's old old country) or gospel/christian though I've always loved the old hymns.
I love to read, pretty much anything except harlequin romance novels. I'll read a fictional historical romance novel as long as the history was well researched. I tend to lean towards horror/suspense and fantasy.
I have 2 kids, my daughter is 8, she's a warrior princess and a tomboy diva, she's awesome! She's my girly daredevil :) My son is 7 and amazingly artistic, he's on the autism spectrum so he's weird, but that's not unusual for a child I helped create! He likes to sing (Ramones as a finally to his Kindergarten assembly) has a wicked funny streak and loves to read. They are my little people, beautiful, brilliant and amazing. The world is a better place with them in it :) My life is a daily lesson in creativity, which some days is nothing but giggles and fun and others is more trial by fire.
I live on coffee, the people around me in the morning survive because I have coffee. My dogs don't even ask to be let out until after I've made coffee. I love coffee cups, I have a bizarre compulsion to collect them. I also drink tea, and it's yet another bizarre compulsion to buy boxes of tea on a regular basis, many of them only have 1 tea bag used but I have it in case I want it! I'm not huge on candy, I LOVE crystallized ginger and anything tart and citrus. I prefer dark chocolate, just not in my coffee!
I'm creative and clever, not particularly crafty - I can grab a ball of twine and restring an antique sofa that's sagging in the middle, cut the leather off an old couch and reupholster an ottoman, or take a ripped pair of jeans and turn them into pants for 70's night using grommets, really ugly pink paisley pants cut up for inserts and purple shoe laces to run through the grommets... Can't use a sewing machine to save my life (everything is by hand), don't know how to knit, and my penmanship suffers because my fingers on my right hand go numb from tendonitis. I can write with my left but I write everything backwards which amused my teachers to no end as a kid.
I love the rain, I love the snow, I miss the ocean and mountains of the pacific nw, I miss the smell of salt, pine and earth and the way the rain smelled. When I was 4 I told my mother I was going to marry Count Dracula when I grew up, not knowing that she was terrified of vampires (as is my aunt and grandmother) this apparently caused no end of nightmares for her. I was a night owl, ever since I can remember I spent more time watching old movies on the couch than in my bed. I love old horror movies, I love old movies in general. I still have a weakness for vampire and werewolf movies, especially foreign ones. I've also seen every episode of Benny Hill and Mash! I love mythology and fables, fairy tails and folk lore, old wives tales and superstitions and their origins. I love the bizarre and warped, the odd and peculiar, the things that are familiar and strange all at the same time.
