First and foremost I want to address my 1's. As you can see, they are from almost 4 years ago. I did have another account back then and was getting out of an abusive relationship. In trying to leave, a lot of my crafting supplies was lost or destroyed and I abandoned my account due to the difficult time I was having. I was ready to start swapping again last year but couldn't remember login information and I wanted a fresh start so I created this account. Everything recently has been rated a 5 and if you have any questions or concerns before letting me participate in a swap, please message me. I take swapping seriously and want to earn that trust back in the community. I do want to make it up to my partners in the past but as of right now, only one is recently active on the site and I am working on fixing that 1 for the lyric journal. I have messaged them all and hope to reconcile the past with them.
Now! On to the fun stuff!
Hello! I am Michigander (against my will in the Winter lol) who has been crafting all my life! I am the mother to a wonderful but sassy pug puppy named Cujo who lives up to his name! I hope to eventually help children or animals one day once I obtain a big girl job and if all else fails, to make cupcakes! ^.^ I have recently rejoined the ranks as a full-time worker (woot!) as a customer order specialist! Very excited about this! Also, I am not easily offended as I am a very frank and blunt person so if you wish to express yourself in the most honest way you can, go for it! I'm pretty laid back and will enjoy whatever is sent! :D
I don't watch too much television but when I do I enjoy the following: ~Breaking Amish ~Dexter ~Rescue Me ~Entourage ~Nip/Tuck ~Scrubs ~Gilmore Girls
I love them all! I love using embossing powder, alcohol inks, paint of all sorts (really been enjoying the 3D fabric paints lately for ATC's and other paper crafts), scrapbooking paper, ribbon, and other tiny embellishments! Watercolor and pen and ink are also personal favorites as well! I also make jewelry and have been wanting to get into polymer clay!
~Owls ~Flamingos ~Pugs ~Tattoos ~Detroit ~Cupcakes ~Coffee ~Tea ~Glitter ~Photographs ~Music ~Dark humor ~The color red ~Flowers ~Skulls ~Puzzle Pieces ~Lego's ~Pins ~Anything and Everything Halloween related! ~Nautical things (anchors, ship wheels, sea shells, etc.) ~Pin up girls ~Vintage looking things/ steampunk ~Teal and Orange together ~ ATC's ~Sudoku puzzles ~ Hand written letters ~POSTCARDS!!! (see specifics below) ~Stickers ~3D crafts ~Cemeteries ~Dark/gothic things ~dry humor ~Clothes paints ~Police related things ~Garfield ~Bumper Stickers ~Running ~Nail Polish ~Peppermint Altoids ~Patches ~Pins ~Street Art ~Keys and locks ~Mini Canvas' ~Clocks ~Quotes ~And lots more that I can't think of right now! If it looks like thought and creativity has gone into it, I'll love it!
While I will love anything that has had effort put into it, I am not too keen on the following: ~Hardcore religious anything (However, I love learning about different religions. If you want to send something representing what you believe with an explanation of why it's important to you, I'm all ears and eyes!) I do however like rosaries just because I find them elegant and I like the idea behind them. ~Creepy crawlies of any kind including but not limited to: spiders, ants, cock roaches, flies, basically anything that has more than four legs, forget about it! (Butterflies and dragonflies excluded) ~Baby/child related items. I just don't have a use for it as I don't have children nor do I plan on it. I will however accept furbaby (dog) items! ~Scifi...just can't get into it
I have a large variety of music that I enjoy, just depends on the time of year I suppose. Currently I'm loving: ~Incubus ~Luke Bryan ~Keane ~Red Hot Chili Peppers ~John Mayer ~Metallica ~Foster The People ~AWOLNATION ~David Gray ~Bruce Springsteen ~Eric Church ~Fleetwood Mac ~Again, these are just a few and I always love hearing/ reading new lyrics :)
Currently, I'm reading "Detroit City is the Place to Be" as I have taken an interest in potentially moving there someday. It's such a beautiful city and it breaks my heart to see it in the condition it's in. I am obsessed with Stephen King! I've read Carrie, Cujo, Pet Semitary (my favorite so far), The Shining, and Everything is Eventual. I do want to read Bag of Bones, Christine, and Salems Lot eventually. Aside from Mr. King, I like psychological thrillers, actual ghost stories from other's hometowns, zombies, serial killers, and children's books (strictly for the illustrations and cute stories). I am not particularly fond of Anne Rice or any other vampire novels, or werewolves. I also am not a fan of romance, sci-fi or religious readings however I am open to history (especially the royal family, mafia, crime, local history of places), classics, and non-fiction in general. I would like to read some of John Grisham's books and Dean Koontz but there just simply isn't enough time in the day to read them all and have a life and swap! Due to work and school, I do tend to learn toward books that are 350 pages or less just because I like to read and finish books within a couple days.
In regards to food, I'm a foodie at heart! I am open to try new things and love international foods! The only things I don't really care for are white chocolate and hot cocoa (occasionally I like hot chocolate but not enough to hoard it like I do with coffee or tea). I love crunchy foods like chips or nuts! The man on the other hand devours candy like it's going out of style so one way or another it will get ate lol
If sending a beverage, I do drink all teas (haven't met one I haven't liked yet) and as for coffee, I don't care for instant. I also don't have a Kurig (yet) so I cannot accept K-cups at this time. If possible, I like the little single serving bags and I would love to try something of your local variety! We have Starbucks and Beaners (I refuse to call it Bigby) and a few other local shops but sadly no Caribou Coffee or other national chains :( Like tea, I have yet to encounter a coffee I won't drink (I even drink the sludge at work that is cleverly disguised as "coffee")!
HELP 6/5/14: I've received a postcard dated 5/27/14 from Metairie, Louisiana (It's a picture of Bourbon Street) and I don't know if it's from Postcrossing or Swap-Bot. The individual who sent it name is Clare, but I'm assuming goes by Marie. If it needs to be registered or rated, please let me know who you are and where this came from! I wish to give you thanks and credit where it's due :D
Send me your states, your countries, your weird, your artful, whatever you got really! I just love postcards! I do have a collection of state postcards and I'm trying to reach all 50! As of right now I have (as of 3/17/14):
Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming!
I do love receiving postcards from all over the world though! I have also upgraded to a larger portfolio that holds all sizes of postcards so send me whatever you want! Also, I LOVE weird postcards that other people may turn their noses up at so if you have something questionable, feel free to send it! It will be appreciated!
