I am an obsessed crafster married to the wonderful Pattrick. I have worked for the same law firm for the last 19 years as a word processor. I live in Adelaide, South Australia in an old bungalow which is in a constant state of renovation. I grew up on Kangaroo Island and still have family there. I have one daughter who is 23 and is currently working in the ski fields at Mt Washington on Vancouver Is until April 2010. Miss her!!!
I love fabric crafts - mainly quilting but machine embroidery is becoming a fast favourite since I purchased a Brother earlier this year. I also do smocking, embroidery, cross stitch etc. I enjoy making soft toys and knitting too. I cannot crochet.
I belong to a quilting group which meets about once a month on average.
I have only recently come to the world of blogging and swaps. Participated in a Christmas decoration swap which was fun and now a mouse swap is in progress.
I love sewing!!!
I am also a member of a book club, go to the gym (but have to restart after my holidays) and kayaking with my husband.
I like bright colours and soft - mainly pinks but I am not fussy - whatever someone makes for me I will like. I have a rather large fabric stash and projects (BOM) to keep me going forever but there's always room for more!
I have a soft spot for softies - especially rabbits/bunnies and mice!! I have a quirky sense of humour and so I love anything that makes me laugh and something that little bit different.
FAVOURITE THINGS I love dogs - little dogs - still miss my dearly departed mini foxy Niki - hoping to get a new puppy this year to spoil rotten.
I love birds too - such dainty and beautiful creatures.
I love reading - all genres except horror and sc-fi.
I love going to the movies generally European/British films - dramas/comedies mainly.
Also enjoy swimming and going to the gym.
Cooking is fun, well food generally really. I come from a family of foodies - one brother is a chef and my dad did all the cooking when mum went back to work. Quite normal for my family to sit and discuss what we had to eat and what we are going to eat next or discuss recipes. My daughter lists her hobby as cooking and has an extensive library of cookbooks and videos.
I enjoy gardening and nature - have a passion for flowers and pride myself on knowing the names of many plants and flowers (my Nanna's influence).
FAVOURITE BOOK Cold Mountain Also enjoyed the Alexander McCall Smith series. Anita Shreve I also enjoy and some Jodi Picoult.
FAVOURITE MOVIE Tess of the D'urbevilles Anything with Meryl Streep is good too. Really like European/English films. Merchant Ivory are among my favourites.
GOALS AND AMBITIONS To keep sewing and make LOTS more quilts and softies. I am startng to lean towards designig my own. Want to learn to crochet and do some more rug making and punch needle embroidery. Any handcrafts really are up for trial. I harbour a secret ambition to one day sell my wares at a craft market or perhaps host craft gatherings.
To keep heatlhy and happy and travel more.
To maintain a loving and happy relationship with my only daughter.
To spend more time in the garden.
CRAFT PREFERENCES Colour preferences probably pinks, greens maroons - pretty fabrics - flowers.
Not a great cat lover so cat fabrics are out!
Like novelty fabrics - they appeal to my sense of humour.
Not a great lover of primitives or really dark colours.
Pretty and not too fussy would be my style if I had to describe what I like.
Having said that - in swap world I am thrilled to receive whatever my partner takes the trouble to make and send to me!
THINGS I WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE fabric, fabric, fabric buttons yarn anything pretty and/or pink handmade stitcheries/embroidery lace anything incorporating mice and bunnies softies anything sewing related
