About Me

YES, my art is a bit different and sometimes a bit weird.. I love abstract, bright colors, and thing that are not cookie cutter style. BUT, when I work on a swap I will always check your profile to try to create something that will fit your style.

Send a message before leaving a negative rating so the issue may be corrected.

** DID YOU RECEIVE MY PACKAGE? ..I normally send this message about two weeks after sending my package when I have not heard from you.

When I receive your swap I will rate you, so please give me the same consideration thank You...**

alt text

If you did not receive your swap item from me please contact me before leaving your rating.. I will correct the situation. I will never flake on anyone.. If you receive an item that does not meet the swap guidelines, please contact me and I will correct what ever is needed. TIA

Just to let you know......

Postage Due, If you send an envelop that is "under " an oz but is over 1/4" thick , or larger than 6 1/8 x 11 1/2" ....the postage will be more than 45 cents in the USA...It is POSTAGE DUE....My post office will check for this.. They have really gotten cranky here lately. Please don't guess...... http://postcalc.usps.gov/

alt text

I will normally complete a project/swap and have it ready to go...before I ever sign up unless it is profile related.

I try to find time everyday to do some crafting. I loose all track of time, eat less, and feel the stress of my day just melt away.

alt text

I love seeing different styles of artwork and appreciate the hard work and value of each created piece. Everyone has their own style and I find that very interesting. From the abstract two faced works of Picasso and Splatter paintings of Pollock....to the very detailed realistic work of Rembrandt.. there is true beauty in these creations..My work is thought through and carefully created and never just thrown together last minute. From what I create I am sharing a tiny piece of who I am...My art teacher use to say, "Be proud of what you create." Some days I may start over,,,more than once and perhaps spend way too much time on a project. But I feel better knowing I have given you the best I have to offer.
When I send out my packages I sometimes will send extras if I feel it is something you have indicated you could use. I have lots of stuff and very little crafting room, so I'm happy to share.

FAIRY NAME Thorn Jupiter dancer She is a mysterious and secretive fairy. She lives in brambles and blackberry bushes. She is only seen when the bees swarm and the crickets chirrup. She wears purple and green like berries and leaves. She has soft mauve butterfly wings.

Favorite Music

I will always love The Beatles and Elvis.. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd.. But I also have a wide interest in music that includes Lady GaGa, Black Eyed Peas, Adam Lambert and The Canadian Tennors, Mannheim Steamroller....

alt text

Music represents a form of relaxation for me when I play the slow 80's tunes and some classical music. I would have to say that Christmas music is my favorite such as Anaheim Steam Roller. "Carol of The Bells" is what I was named for. It was a song my mother loved.

alt text

Favorite Books

I just finished The Time Traveler's Wife, The Lovely Bones, The Book of Lost Things, and The Good Earth.. The Help
I've read all the Harry Potter books. I enjoy fiction and non-fiction but love a good laugh.. So the book, "Don't Pee on My Leg and Tell Me It's Raining" by Judge Judy Sheindlin I found to be a smile maker..
Have read most of Nicholas Sparks, Stephen King, and Dean Koontz books. Many years ago Stephen King came to the college and he autographed one of my books.. YES!

alt text

I finished a series of books by Karen Harper and just started another series by Beverly Lewis. Both authors write fictional stories about Amish families. There are many times when I wish I could return to a simpler life.
Technology is not my friend...and as it changes I have trouble following it.

I love the zine publications and have collected a few. I've made several A6 size zines which are geared toward children's themes.. Let me know if you wish to do a private swap..

Favorite Movies

alt text

I love the old movies like Gone with the Wind, The sound of Music, Oklahoma, and The King and I. And newer movies like Alice In Wonderland, Avitar and UP..
More favorites are Pretty Woman, Cool Hand Luke, The Anchorman, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Terms of Enderment. Forrest Gump, The Notebook, Titanic.

alt test

I never got into the Twight scene... and have no problem with others who love it.
I do love movies,, just not the realist blood juts and gore of some of them.

Actors:
Patrick Swayze, Julia Roberts, Jack Nicholson, Denzel Washinton, Johnny Depp. Russel Crowe, Tom Hanks.

Favorite Television

48 hrs.HGTV, Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, Body of Proof, Touch, Awake, The Mentalist... GRIMM .. Fringe...(I will always love L O S T )

Smelly like a garbage pale... squashed bugs, used wrappers...used gum.....Y U C K! ! ! ... It will go in the trash...Now if that is your style and you WANT it.. I'm more than happy to send it.. This to me is... N O T a Smash Book or Junk Journal Technique.... (The technique of crumpling paper and layers of paint.. moody, free spirt. no problem) Grundge is not nasty stuff.....

Response: Oh wonderful!.. I'm so glad you enjoyed the inchies.. I keep a box of all my teenie tiny, itty bits of this and that and love to sit and create inchies. Comment: Oh my gosh, cj! I was expecting this to fun, but what you did was dynamite!!! Your letter made me not just cry . . . I sobbed. I'm a teacher, too, so I understand the depth of love and respect teachers and students can have for each other and the impact those special relationships have in the lives of both people. I hope you have the opportunity to tell that young man one day what a lasting difference he has made in your life, as well. Beautiful story. Thank you for sharing it with me! :-)
Response: I hope that wasn't depressing.. It sure wasn't meant to be... As a retired teacher there are so many memories, and yes.. I've talked many times with that young man, his, wife, and held his babies.. Years later I was recognized as "Teacher of the Year" for another school.. and he stood up and presented a speech that made me cry.. It was wonderful.. Thank you for rating.. and HUGS for the heart.. cj
