About Me

Hello there! I'm a person who enjoys a little bit of this and that. I'm not very good at any of the crafts I do, but I find joy in the process.

I enjoy many forms of art but don't necessarily have a favorite because I find beauty in various expressions, whether it's paintings, architecture, or music. Each has its unique charm.

I'm a bit of a tinkerer, from crafts to renovation/landscape projects, and occasionally even some vehicle repairs. I take pleasure in creating and working on different things with my own hands.

I have a deep fondness for autumn and winter, along with a love for grey, cloudy, rainy days. Capturing the beauty of evening, morning, and night skies, including stars, through photography is something I especially enjoy.

I enjoy learning about a wide range of topics including history, science, space, and mathematics. I would greatly love to learn numerous languages.

I greatly enjoy coffee; while my attempts at making tea could use some improvement (I make horrible tea).

Staying active is important to me, whether it's through sports, running, cycling (especially at night), kayaking, or bouldering.

I'm no gourmet chef (I'm a horrible cook), but I love exploring different cuisines and discovering new restaurants.

I dabble in technology, from graphic design to web development and 3D/virtual/augmented reality design.

Lastly, I cherish traveling (although never been abroad) to appreciate landscapes and historic and modern architecture.

In short, I find joy in the simple pleasures of life, always eager to learn, create, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.

Television/Movies

About Movies and Television Shows I Like:

Television: I haven't been keeping up with TV for quite a while. However, there are some classic shows that I always look back on with fondness (so I still go back and catch clips on occasion). These include favorites like "The Muppets," "Sesame Street," "Mr. Rogers Neighborhood," "Bob Ross," "Gilmore Girls," and "Friends."

When it comes to streaming TV, I'm drawn to a variety of genres, though I'm not exclusive to any. I have a soft spot for history, especially British history and castles, as well as cooking and baking shows. Documentaries also pique my interest, offering a chance to learn something new. Additionally, I enjoy adventure series like "Top Gear" and "The Grand Tour."

Movies: In the world of cinema, my taste varies quite a bit. I have a particular fondness for period pieces, whether they're movies or TV series based on classics.

Action films like "The Matrix," "Edge of Tomorrow," and the "Mission Impossible" series are near the top of my list.

Coming-of-age stories hold a special place in my heart, from movies like "Rushmore" and "Scent of a Woman" to "With Honors," "Good Will Hunting," and "Dead Poets Society." I'm also a fan of comedies and humor, particularly those in the Monty Python style, along with classics like "The Princess Bride" and I get a kick out of movies featuring Will Ferrell.

When it's time for epic adventures and fantasy, I can't resist classics like "Lord of the Rings," "The Hobbit," "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," "The Dark Crystal," and "Harry Potter."

Animation, both classic and claymation, brings me joy. Think "Peanuts," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," old Disney animations, and beloved claymation creations like "Wallace and Gromit" and "Shaun the Sheep."

During the holiday season, I'm all in for Christmas and holiday movies, from "Rise of the Guardians" to classic Peanuts specials and the enchanting "Nightmare Before Christmas."

I also enjoy Wes Anderson movies (although I have not seen them all).

In a nutshell, my taste in movies and TV shows is somewhat all over, and I'm always open to discovering new favorites in these diverse genres.

Favorite Books

I recently started getting into reading. I've compiled lists for different categories, and I'm slowly making my way through the most highly recommended books in each one:

  • Ancient Classics & Greek/Roman Classics (e.g., "Beowulf").
  • Classics (e.g., "Jane Eyre").
  • Classics suited for the season (e.g., perfect for autumn).
  • Children's Classics (e.g., "The Wind in the Willows").
  • Classic Fantasy (e.g., "Lord of the Rings").
  • Contemporary Fantasy (e.g., "The Priory of The Orange Tree").

Favorite Crafts

As I mentioned earlier, I'm not a master of any art craft (I'm actually not good at all at any of these), but I find joy in exploring various crafts.

  • Calligraphy: I would love to be able to create beautiful lettering.

  • Art/Junk/Scrap Journaling: I am trying to learn and experiment with art journaling.

  • Painting & Drawings: You'll often find me with a sketchbook in hand. I really enjoy sketching...

  • Photography: Along with my sketchbook, you'll often find me with a camera in tow. I love going on photography adventures.

  • Knitting: I have wanted to learn how to knit for a long time (bucket-list item).

While I may not be good at any of these crafts, the simple act of creating brings me great joy and peace.

PostCards

  • Anything handmade
  • From Museums
  • Maps
  • Art / Paintings
  • Local postcards
  • Landscapes Although I'm listing cards I've liked in the past, I now realize it is very difficult to find postcards in my city so I assume it's the same everywhere - so anything you find nice that you'd like to share that isn't gory/grotesque.

Things I collect

  • Brass or Pewter little pieces (e.g., game pieces, charms)
  • Ink (e.g., for dip pens)
  • Peanuts (e.g., Charlie Brown) and Disney figurines

WishList

  • Classic books (I'm just starting off my collection)
  • Pretty Christmas cards (Christmas cards at any time of the year)
  • Stickers (transfer/scratch on stickers - I enjoy the transferring, but I can't seem to find these anywhere)
  • Handmade sketch/watercolor books
  • Handmade cards
  • Monopoly game pieces (especially special editions, and if the piece is from your area/city, I'd love to hear how that piece relates to your area).
  • Blue ink Pens (fine felt-tipped preferred, but really any)
  • Wax Seal Stamps
