My name is Dawn and I love to write letters. There is something so exciting about going to the post office and dropping something in the mail. I know that, soon, someone is going to get a nice surprise. I would like to find like-minded people. I also like to do scrapbooking, baking, kayaking, Dr. Who, Steampunk, Christmas crafts, history and languages. I am looking forward to participating on Swap-Bot.

I have been searching for a pen pal for some time. I do have a friend in Japan that I write sometimes. We met in highschool. I always enjoy seeing her postcards and letters. I guess part of the fun is finding interesting cards, paper and such to write on too. I don't know if anyone noticed, but finding interesting letter-writing stationary is quite the feat. And, I have not had a lot of luck.

I live and work in a remote area and I do a lot of night shifts. Those are many long hours alone and I miss the outside world. Letter writing is one way that I stay in touch. And I like to hold a tangeable paper in my hand. I am a bit old-fashioned.

I just turned 35 and my daughter is soon to be 15-years-old! Time is really flying. A lot of my interests incorporate her and it is a way that we spend time together. My daughter is an amazing person and very precious to me.

I have been getting into soccer and my daughter shares this passion. Recently, we went to our very first professional match. I believe that this will be one of the bigger events that we will remember. I always find myself saving little things like the tickets or receipts to our firsts. I am not sure what I intend to do with these things, but they do hold good memories.

I hope that soon I will have new friends to write to and share with. I want to hear other people's stories too. Happy swapping everyone.

My all-time favorite series is the Firey Cross Series by Diana Gabaldon - Diana puts so much detail into creating the scenes and environment that I can tell she really did her research. I feel totally transported into the place and time of the story. And, as an author, she has an uncanny ability to write in foreign accents and still have the reader go through with ease. Simply put, I think she is amazing.

Well...I did mention before Dr. Who; however, I find myself drawn to a lot of historical things too. Right now, I am mostly watching Cooking shows. No they are not my favorite, but they do look tastey and let's admit it, the food at work is no better than military base food. I have to dream, don't I? The truth is, I don't have much time to watch the television.
