I am a lifelong crafter and love all forms of crafting, from paper and fabric to wood and paint (but yarn and I are not friends at all!). I live on a small hobby farm in Western Wisconsin near the Minnesota border and we raise a small herd of beef cattle and our own chickens for eggs and meat. We are also enslaved by a few dogs and barn cats. I live pretty far from the nearest Walmart (20 miles) or large grocery store (30 miles) so find ways to entertain myself. I have 5 grown kids and 4 grandkids (so far), so I manager to stay busy no matter the season.

I am currently obsessed with Junk Journaling and all of it's included crafts - painting, dying paper, coloring, book making, hunting for thrifted supplies at thrift stores, and friends and relatives homes. I love vintage/antique everything and am especially enthralled with anything from the 19th century - I love the deco 20's, the sturdy 40s, the futuristic 50s and 60s - I love the 70s (my childhood) and the 80s (shoulder pads and neon, anyone?) Kitch is cool! I am also obsessed with felt/sequin kits/ornaments and have made about 50 in the last year (I sprained my ankle horribly a year ago, so most were made when I was laid up with that for about 4 months). And I recently re-visited my love of needle work - this time I am obsessed with crewel but have done many types of embroidery.

Classics like Love Actually, Pretty Woman, Christmas Story, A Few Good Men, Driving Miss Daisy, Steel Magnolias top the list. I love a good story in any form - I never see the movie before I read the book (if there is one) - it just wrecks the book for me. I enjoy action movies, sci-fi, and fantasy. I am not a Hallmark Movie person at all (too syrup-y), but I do love a good love story.

• Vintage - anything from the 1800s through around 1980 - I love images from the 40s, 50s, & 70s most, but I also adore anything old and handwritten
• Foreign languages - handwritten especially
• Floral/botanical - realistic, but not so much for photos (unless vintage :) )
• Textures - anything from handmade paper, lace to corduroy to sandpaper!
• Snails - weird, I know
• Art - from the old masters to Andy Warhol and unknown artists & folk art - I love art!
• Art supplies - watercolor, paint, pencils, pens, paper, canvas, paint-by-number (yes, this is STILL art), fabric, trims, glue, sewing notions, BUTTONS
• Vintage books and papers - letters, lists, recipes, magazines, stamps - pretty much anything made of paper
  *Playing cards with images on the back - everything from vintage bridge cards to airlines to advertising - I have no idea why, but I LOVE vintage playing cards (not so much the red/blue style though)
• Journals and notebooks - again, no idea why since I make these, but I can't ever leave them behind at the thrift stores

*Cutesy (Kawaii, adorable puppy/kitty images, unicorns - if your 7 year old would think it adorable, it probably isn't my jam)
* Mythology, Alchemy, Dark Arts, Halloween, Skeletons - I don't hate them, I just never know what to do with them because they don't fit my style * Little Golden Books - again, I just never know what to do with them
* Bright colors - I like more subdued colors, especially in the neutral & nature palettes **** with that said, I won't rate down just because it isn't my style, I will save and pass along - sometimes it is fun to get something outside my "norm" just to see what it inspires!****
