Hey there everyone! My name is Meredith.

I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and then went to college at the Academy of Art (for motion pictures and television) in San Francisco, California. Now I'm back in good old Kansas City. I'm 25 years old and living with my boyfriend, my cat, and my chihuahua.

I love music from The Decemberists, Barenaked Ladies, Dean Martin, The Beatles, Portishead, Lamb, The Who, Bjork, Noisettes, Jukebox the Ghost, Patsy Cline, Get Set Go, Jonathan Coulton, and She & Him. I also love showtunes and old music (like Cole Porter, Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee, etc). I'm not really into rap, r&b, or country though.

My favorite musicals are Les Miserables, Caroline or Change, Avenue Q, Batboy, Reefer Madness, Evil Dead the Musical, The Producers, Sweeney Todd (stage version), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Little Shop of Horrors.

I like horror books and quirky books like those by Bret Easton Ellis, Joe Hill, David Sedaris, Stephen King, etc. And for the record I have read both the Harry Potter series and the Twilight series. I don't like crime/law/detective books unless they're in the horror genre or romance novels. Historical fiction with a romantic edge is fine though (like Phillipa Gregory).

Some of my favorite books include The Lovely Bones, The Giver, Rose Madder, American Psycho, Glamorama, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Eclipse, Dead Until Dark, Les Miserable (unabridged vers.), Of Mice and Men, I Am America and So Can You, The Queen's Fool, If Chins Could Kill, Off Season, Memoirs of a Geisha, Battle Royale, The Vampire Lestat, Pride and Prejudice with Zombies, and Wicked.

I just finished reading Horns. I'm currently reading Are You There Vodka? It's me Chelsea. On my book wishlist is Under the Dome (Stephen King) and Ladies' Night (Jack Ketchum).

I also like comic books a lot (mostly DC verse or independent publishers). Some of my favorites include Batman (the best are the Bruce Timm cartoon, the Hush series, Batgirl Year One, Mad Love, and The Dark Knight Returns). I love Birds of Prey, Halo & Sprocket, The Boys, Watchmen, Scott Pilgrim, and the web comic Chester 5000. My favorite comic book character by far is Harley Quinn (seeing as how I have a tattoo of her on my shoulder).

My favorite cartoons are Futurama, The Venture Bros, Family Guy, Darkwing Duck, Pinky and the Brain, King of the Hill, Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers, ATHF, and Home Movies.

My favorites animes/mangas are Fruits Basket (both), NGE (anime), Love Hina (manga), Cowboy Bebop (anime), Fushigi Yugi (anime), and Is (manga).

I'm into almost all movies, though I'm not really into romantic comedies, sports, or cop movies. I like old movies, musicals, horror movies, fantasies, comedies, Disney/Pixar, Foreign films, and movies with good, unique stories. My favorite directors are Hal Ashby, Wes Anderson, Sofia Coppola, Park Chan-Wook, Michael Gondry, Quentin Tarantino, Alfred Hitchcock, Robert Rodriguez, Jon Favreau, and Takashi Miike.

Some favorite include Harold & Maude, The 5th Element, Beauty and the Beast, Edward Scissorhands, Drag Me to Hell, Scream, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Ratatouille, Thirst, Amelie, The Jerk, Groundhog Day, Vertigo, Superbad, LOTR, Shaun of the Dead,There Will Be Blood, Serenity, Lost in Translation, Interview with a Vampire, The Royal Tenenbaums, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Adaptation, Kill Bill and my recent addition to the list Up.

TV shows I'm addicted to include Lost, True Blood, Glee, Deadwood, Arrested Development, Dead Like Me, Dexter, 3rd Rock from the Sun, The Office, Firefly, Strangers with Candy, Ace of Cakes, Iron Chef America, The Kids in the Hall, MST3K, Xena, The Soup, Best Week Ever, Daria, & 30 Rock. I'm also a fan of The Daily Show and the Colbert Report.

I also really like Dr Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog though that was a short online series so I wasn't exactly sure where to list it.

I love painting, drawing, making crafts and taking photos (who doesn't?). I do a bit of sewing and I'm trying to learn knitting. I've recently taken up oil painting and it's something I'm working on perfecting. As for drawing, I love drawing cartoon/comic like people and fanart. I'm much more into story themed art than anything else.

My favorite color is grass green. I'm also a fan of sunshine yellow. Really any colors are good for me though I really like certain color mixes like gray with yellow, pink with brown, and silver with green. I like lace, patterns, and gothic designs. My favorite kinds of themes are French and Grecian. I like mythology and story themed art. I'm a sucker for romantic tragedies. I love keys (old, new, real, or fake), crabs, deer, foxes, retro designs, vintage pin up girls, designs with cupcakes, zombies, and pugs. I love ANYTHING that can be used in the kitchen. I love Lush bath products immensely. And I love Reese's peanut butter cups and I love even more the special holiday versions of it Reese's makes. I love horror themed items and I'm currently wishing I had that replica True Blood drink (I hear it's actually tasty). I love giant monsters along with zombies, vampires and werewovles.

Want to really get me grinning? I am obsessed with OPI nail polish. :-D

As for things I don't like... I don't like things that are overly religious and I don't like things that are sports related. Also, please don't send any off-brand candy if possible... unless it's movie/video game related special candy. I don't mind people saving money, but please nothing that you yourself wouldn't want to receive. Other than that, I'm pretty open to most things.

I always rate my swap partners as soon as I receive the item. I do give hearts if it's a special send.

I never flake on swaps so if you haven't received anything from me, please tell me before rating it as a no send. I will resend if anything happened to the package or letter.

I'm kind of an early bird. If the swap isn't a custom to my partner's profile and a craft swap, then I usually have things out within a day or two of the swap being assigned.

Just a heads up. Please don't mark packages as sent unless you've actually sent them! This drives me nuts! Second, I can't stand flakers! They ruin this site for all of the hard working users on swap-bot.
