I joined the site to exercise my brain in new creative ways and have a hobby that I could share with others. I am 25 and still in college because of my 4 year Marines stint. I love foreign culture and how it relates to the sports in that country, and enjoy researching foreign teams and discovering how they affect the region and getting to know about the rivalries therein. My favorite styles of art are Victorian steam-punk, pulp magazines and comics, classic Spanish painters, and anything influenced by Mexico's Day of the Dead. I'll read any short story, especially if it is motivated by humor. I love art that is exaggerated or ironic......or edible. Any recipe that comes my way will be tried and enjoyed.
If the song I am listening to has a horn section, there is 87% better chance that I will LOVE it! This crosses all genres and styles, but often leads to me listening to an inordinate amount of ska music. The other genres that dominate the current play-list though are post punk revival, classic jazz, and funk oriented R&B.
Here is my eclectic list of favorite authors: (in no particular order) Dave Barry, Bill Simmons, Alan Moore, Malcolm Gladwell, Brad Meltzer, Earnest Hemingway, Stephen Pastis
