Hey y’all! I’m Emily :) I’m in my late twenties and work as a full-time Graphic Designer in a small city in Louisiana. I have always loved crafts! I recently discovered the art form pen palling has taken on and I am looking to try my hand at this.

For a quick about me.. I most enjoy spending my time loving on my dogs, listening to music, and crafting. I think my style could probably best be described as “bohemian.” I’m a total sucker for anything with lace, bows, or florals.

I’ve been getting a lot of letter inspiration from Brittany McCowan and The Paper Letter Blog. I plan on creating pen pal packages with little goodies like washi tapes, stickers, mail tags, and playlists. Please let me know if you share any of these interests and would like to pen pal with me!

I LOVE MUSIC. I’m always looking to discover new bands. I’m open to almost any genre of music but I’m partial to rock (indie, alternative, classic, some metal), folk/Americana, cultural, instrumental, classical, and Studio Ghibli soundtracks.

I am a HUFFLEPUFF. Harry Potter remains my favorite books because it sparked my love of reading when I was a kid. My dream life exists in the Harry Potter realm where my two dog babies would have been able to accompany me to Hogwarts. I’d love to receive any HP/Hufflepuff goodies!

One could say I have a major Flow Magazine obsession.....💕 it’s just so beautiful.

Sadly I have not been reading much lately but I hope to get back into it very soon. Suggestions welcome ☺️ The last book I really enjoyed was The Little Paris Bookshop. Lots of insightful and thought-provoking quotes from that one.

I love fantastical worlds that make you use your imagination like LOTR and Eragon. I also like thriller/suspense or romance novels.

I like really enjoy historical fiction (I LOVE Outlander) as well as memoirs like A Long Way Gone.

I love listening to Podcasts and I feel like that could be categorized in this group. Dr. Death, Dirty John, Up and Vanished, Serial, S-Town, Someone Knows Something, Death in Ice Valley, and Thinking Sideways are some of my favorites.

In addition to podcasts, I’ve been listening to The Moth talks. I bought a published book of The Moth stories and have fallen in love with it. If you’re unfamiliar with The Moth, you should look it up!

I’m currently crafting miniature things like mini journals, mini paper houses, mini dream catchers, and researching mini mail ideas. I also have an Amish knot rug made with old t-shirts in progress.

Fun Fact: I LOVE tiny things! I always have. I just find them so adorable!

Working on watercolors, whipping up some homemade essential oil bath salts and scrubs, and I’m looking forward to starting my pen pal journey!

I LOVE ANIMALS. I’m definitely a dog person. I spoil mine shamelessly and I find no fault in that 😌

In addition to pups, I’m definitely partial to the cute, fuzzy, and cuddly, but I’m obsessed with elephants, orcas, and deer. if you send me anything with elephants, orca, or deer on it, there’s a 100% chance I will scream with elation

I’m willing to try any type of tea! I love black teas, white teas, green teas, herbals, whatever! Any teas you might send would be greatly appreciated!

I LOVE CULTURES. I definitely am looking for pen pals and swaps from various countries.

Sadly, I only speak English and my high school Spanish classes have left me with “Me gusta la playa y pina coladas.” And “la hoja de papel.” i definitely want to broaden my Spanish!! 🤣

I have always been intrigued by cultural customs and traditions, artwork, music, clothing, etc. I am fascinated by the people I share this world with!

I’m also convinced Disney World’s Epcot was made just for me.

I LOVE TRAVELLING. I haven’t been to nearly as many places on my bucket list as I would like, but I plan to make it to all of them someday.

My top ideal travels I want right now are Bali, New Zealand, Scotland, India, Japan, Greece, Italy, and the US west coast.
