Hi!

My name is Mia, I am new to this and very excited to start swapping =). I m 28 years old and live on a small Island in the Ã…land archipelago, placed between Sweden and Finland. Ã…land is a part of Finland, but it is Swedish speaking. I was born in Sweden and moved here in November 2014.

I am an unschooling mum of four amazing kids, born 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2014. I can write in swedish and english. Love tea, chocolate, writing and reading and to create things with my hands! I am a vegetarian and a feminist.

I am planning to fill this presentation out more detailed, one step at a time.

How I met your mother

Yarncraft! -I knit, mostly socks and hats, but also tags that I put up in public, and sometimes things for the kid, like dolls clothes or a pillow for some small toys or such.

-I also crochet, clothes for the kids, blankets, grannie squares (L), amigurumi.

I prefer natural yarn before plastic. All colors.

-Spinning yarn from wool.

-Embroidering. I am a member of a embroidering group where all members have made a theme, mine was "fairytales". Then all of us have written down what we are going to make of the pieces, what size we want and which colors go and don´t go. Then the themes are travelling once every month, with everyones version of the theme, and eventually I´ll be getting mine back with all versions of it. Really fun! I prefer embroidering on freehand over doing cross-stitch, but sometimes cross stitch is the only reasonable thing to do =) I like experimenting with stitches and I have let go of my perfection, because it held me from getting anything done. Now I always do my best, but I don´t expect it to be perfect.

Sewing - I sew clothes for my kids and I like making canvas bags and handbags.

Letter art (I enjoy doing it, but I´m not among the most talented)

Recently started drawing.

Totoro - Love the movie and Totoro is so cute.

Little red riding hood - I like the feeling in most pictures of the little girl in her red hood, walking in the woods.

History of ordinary people - I would really LOVE to get to know your anscestors, how and where they lived, who they were, what they liked, what they did, what life was like for them. Just everyday life and experiences. Copied old photos with their history would be just awesome. I especially like reading about women, but all history of everyday life is very interesting.

Pink, puffy, girlie stuff. But I do have a daugher who looooves it.

Things that someone had to die for it to be made, like meat or leather or that sort of stuff. Wool is ok if it´s not superwash.

Sexism, rascism, transphobia, homophobia, discrimination of any kind.

Lea born 2009 likes princesses, girlie sparkly stuff, chewing gum, Harry Potter, drawing, Pippi longstocking, horseback riding, space and stars.

Elsa born 2010 likes horses, birds, Pippi Longstocking, plants.

Kasper born 2011 likes mater from cars, puzzles, beads, horses.

They all like riding their bikes, jumping trampoline, running around an that sort of stuff. Also to read books. And they like the characters from Frozen.

And then there is our little baby Isak, born 2014. He is still mostly into baby things, like chewing on things, practicing to walk, crawling around being super cute.

Well, I don't really collect, like having a nice collection of something, but I am starting a collection of Totoro things. I also like saving bookmarks and I love Washi tape and shaped paperclips, I can never have too much :)
