About Me

Abroad with limited access to the internet until around June 16th

Favorite Books

Afted some break I found my love (and time) for reading. Genres I like: fantasy, supernatural, magic, travel logs.

Recently I read some memoirs, mystery and crime and enjoyed it, too.

Favorite authors: - R. E. Feist - Robert Asprin - Terry Pratchet - James Clavell

Book I recently read and liked: - I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys - Henna Artist by A. Joshi - Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir - Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel - A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn - Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree - Howl's Moving Castle by Diana W. Jones

I read books in Czech language which are not translated to English (and probably never will be).

I noticed I tend to read books mostly from American authors, so I started to mindfully pick authors from different countries to broaden my horizonts.

Favorite Movies

Top recent movies: - The Dune (the old one) - Harry Potter movies - Spirited Away (Ghibli Studio) - Howl's Moving Castle (there is a book, I didn't know)

Top recent anime - Apothecary Diaries - Ascendance of a Bookworm - Heaven Official's Blessing - The Morose Mononokean - Mushishi

Top recent series - Outlander - Bridgertons - Sherlock

About swapping

If you wonder what to send to make my day better.

I love STICKERS - floral - animals - nature - sea - space & sky - cute - cats - owls - forest - landscape (please, no fashion or food)

I keep POSTAL STAMPS - I am not "pro" collector, I just like to look on different stamps from all around the world.

I collect WASHI my collection mostly consists of floral and landscape washi. But I am open mostly to anything (EXCEPT scary and death and overly childish ones)

POSTCARDS / CARDS - places - nature - flowers - buildings (please, no technical or cars or sports) If you have some nice postcard from your city or with some landmark, please send. And if you write a thing or two about your city, all the better.

CHOCO & CANDIES - like to try new types of chocolate / candies / snack (dislike raisins in chocolate and liquorice)

PAGE OF NEWSPAPER - especially if you are non-English speaker :)

LOOSE MEMO PADS / PATTERNED PAPERS - any original, cute, with animals, with people, flowery, patterned

RECOMMEND ME A BOOK - did you read some nice book, add a title and author! I am always on the lookout for something new to read.

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR PLACE - did you visit a nice place, tell me about it!

Comment: Such adorable note papers you used. So very different than American papers. You also can write so tiny. And so very well. Thank you for filling me in about your days. When I was in high school I wanted to be a travel agent but now they are are a very rare breed. Everything is done online now. It sounds like over all you enjoy your job. Have a wonderful rest of your week. Thank you for the post card.

Comment: Arabian literature, that is reading around the world! Clever, maybe I can find some too! I wanted to start in some Delemhach books (as it fits the longest title on the tbr challenge), and I did like Hotel Magnifique! The Otherwhere post just got released in Dutch and I did order it, so I'll have my hands on that one soon! And I also have Tomes & Tea so now I am extra curious

Comment: Thank you so much for your great photos. The double rainbow is beautiful, and your buchty look absolutely yummy <3 They look like the Bavarian "Baunzerl" except that the Baunzerl are not filled (at least the ones my mum and grandma used to make) <3

Comment: Thank you for your review of "The Day the Leader was Killed". I've not read anything by Naguib Mahfouz but your description of the book has intrigued me and I think I might try try some of his writing. (Maybe we should both say thank you to your husband for suggesting it!) And .... given the postcard (which I liked) .... early happy Christmas!

Comment: Thank you for sharing. I love the eggs. How did you decorate those? Was it by hand?
Response: Thank you for heart. No way I could manage that by hand - although my grandmother was painting much more complex patterns - I got a cute little stencil to help me :)
