My name is Emily, and I’m an attorney with a love for creativity and connection. Outside of my professional life, I have a cat named Vernon who keeps me company during my downtime. One of my favorite hobbies is cross-stitching—I find it a relaxing way to unwind and channel my creative energy into something tangible. I’m also an avid pen-pal, enjoying the personal touch of handwritten letters and the connections they foster. Whether I’m working through a legal case or spending time on my hobbies, I’m always looking for ways to balance focus with creativity.
I enjoy all kinds of music, but my favorites are musicals, pop, and country. Musicals hold a special place in my heart because of the storytelling and emotional depth they bring through song. Shows like Les Misérables with 'I Dreamed a Dream,' Hamilton with 'The Room Where It Happens,' and Wicked with 'Defying Gravity' have such powerful narratives that come alive through their scores. In contrast, pop music is my go-to for upbeat energy. Songs like Taylor Swift’s 'Shake It Off,' Ariana Grande’s 'Thank U, Next,' and Dua Lipa’s 'Don’t Start Now' always manage to create catchy, feel-good vibes. As for country, I love its blend of heartfelt lyrics and acoustic sound—songs like Kacey Musgraves' 'Rainbow,' Chris Stapleton’s 'Tennessee Whiskey,' and Miranda Lambert’s 'The House That Built Me' often tell stories that feel authentic and grounded.
I enjoy reading a mix of mysteries and comedy—two genres that keep me hooked in very different ways. Mysteries captivate me with their suspense and the thrill of trying to solve the puzzle before the characters do. Authors like Agatha Christie with And Then There Were None and Gillian Flynn with Gone Girl are masters at creating twists and tension that leave me guessing until the very end. On the other hand, I love comedy for how it brings lightness and laughter to my reading experience. Books like Bossypants by Tina Fey and Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett combine sharp wit with clever storytelling, making them pure fun to read.
Mysteries are a favorite because they keep me on the edge of my seat, piecing together clues alongside the characters. Films like Knives Out and Gone Girl are great examples of thrilling, unpredictable storytelling that keep me hooked from start to finish. The Harry Potter movies, though, have a special place in my heart—there’s something magical about revisiting the wizarding world and its characters, from The Sorcerer’s Stone to The Deathly Hallows. And when it comes to comedies, I love how they offer a lighthearted escape. Movies like Bridesmaids and The Hangover never fail to make me laugh with their over-the-top humor and quirky characters.
My favorite TV shows span a mix of mystery, quirky humor, and classic sitcom charm. Monk is a standout for me with its blend of mystery and the eccentric yet lovable character of Adrian Monk, whose obsessive-compulsive disorder adds a unique twist to solving crimes. I love following his brilliant detective work while also appreciating the show’s underlying heart. On the lighter side, The Big Bang Theory is one of my go-to comfort shows. The nerdy humor, especially from Sheldon Cooper’s oddball antics, never fails to make me laugh, while the friendships among the characters are genuinely heartwarming. And, of course, Friends is an all-time favorite. The iconic dynamics between Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey, and Phoebe make it endlessly rewatchable—the humor is timeless, and I love how each episode feels like catching up with old friends.
I absolutely love spending my free time with crafts like cross-stitching, knitting, and coloring—they each offer a different form of relaxation and creativity. Cross-stitching is one of my favorite hobbies because of the precision and focus it requires, as well as the satisfaction of watching a beautiful pattern slowly take shape, stitch by stitch. I enjoy creating everything from intricate designs to fun, simple pieces. Knitting is another craft I adore. It’s calming, almost meditative, and I love how I can create something functional, like a cozy scarf or blanket, while unwinding. Lastly, coloring allows me to tap into pure creativity. It’s a wonderful way to let my mind wander
One of my favorite things to do is travel and explore new places. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit a range of destinations, from bustling cities to quiet, scenic landscapes. I love the thrill of discovering new cultures, trying different foods, and seeing famous landmarks in person. Whether it’s wandering through the historic streets of a European city, hiking through a national park, or relaxing by the ocean, each trip brings a new adventure.
