Hi, I'm a 56 year old German mom of 4 grown-up kids and a granny of a one-year-old.

I live in a small town in the Black Forrest and after work I love to go out in the woods with my dog.

Via swap-bot I hope to get to know new interesting things and make new friends.

I like to learn foreign languages, now I'm up to English, French, Italian and Portuguese (my newest love!)

To be honest, I'm not that big at crafts, but I like:

• Gardening! I especially like roses, fruit-trees, berries and herbs.

• Knitting while listening to an audiobook.

• Reading.

• I altogether try to recycle things and buy as little plastic stuff as possible.

I'm a passionate reader and like to read everywhere and all the time. My all-time favorites are: "The Farm" by Grisham "Owen Meany" by Irving "The Remains of the Day" by Ishiguro, The "Fandorin-series" by Akunin, poetry by Pessoa and thrillers. I don't really like "chick-lit", science-fiction, fantasy though I recently read books about vampires and aliens by Matt Haig and loved them. I love to read about women living for their own in the wild, or starting a new life f.ex. "Eine Hütte für mich allein" by Joan Barfoot, "The Wall" by Marlen Haushofer, "Die Lebenden und die Toten von Winsford" by Hakan Nesser. So if you come around something like that, please tell me the title. And lately I loved to read books about journeys and trips, f.ex. "Picknick mit Bären" by Bill Bryson.

I've been collecting postcards since I've been a child. On rainy sunday-afternoons I love to look them all up, read a little what is written on them...- I especially like postcards with: - paintings of local or not so famous artists, - dogs, - birds, - bridges, - ruins, - castles, - ships, - islands, - romantic landscapes, - vintage postcards.

What I'd especially like to get:

• something special or unique from your country,

• objects with birds, dogs, trees, mushroom, roses or fruit on them,

• scraps of wool (pure wool or cotton, even tiny scraps) for my various knitting projects

• tea (any spice. But if you happen to have mint-chocolate or black currant flavor, that would be especially great, they don't have this spice in Germany),

• vegetarian recipes from your country - especially baking recipes,

• tote bags including those with advertisement,

• socks (Size European 39-42, thats's M to L),

• objects made of these small glass beads,

• books (especially novels, see above, also used ones) written in German, English, French or Portuguese,

Favorite flowers: roses, peonies, wildflowers

Favorite colors: red and green

Favorite countries to go to on holidays: Portugal! France, Italy. I'm sure there are very beautiful places everywhere else, I just never had the opportunity to travel much.

What I don't like so much:

• granny-like stuff (though I am a granny)

• bones and skulls

• hearts and other lovey-dovey stuff

• Hello Kitty, Disney, Diddl

• ScienceFiction

• I like candles but not scented candles
