I live in New York City but I'm a Red Sox fan, I'm an attorney but currently a stay-at-home mother (but I may become a librarian in the near future), I'm Catholic but a liberal, I'm a girly-girl except when I'm not . . . I guess I'm a tad contradictory. But that's a good nothing -- there's nothing I hate more than stereotypes or gender rules (well, maybe misuse of the word "literally").

I love books, math, words, proper grammar, jewelry, crafts of all kinds (except scrapbooking), comics (the intelligent kind), Batman, televisionwithoutpity dot com (check it out if you have not), arguing, ballet (both watching and dancing), food, wine, and, of course, making things. I'm a jack-of-all-trades, master of none -- I know a little bit about a lot of things. I love color, particularly purples and reds. While there is no color I hate, I'm not crazy about pastels or primaries, or certain shades of brown and grey. I love ornamentation and detail; I'm not a minimalist by any means. I don't like anything cutesy or too girly, unless it is tempered by a bit of darkness or post-modernity. I'm lately interested in Latino influences in crafts, particulary Puerto Rican (where I'm from).

I've dabbled in pretty much everything, but I'm trying to limit myself to my favorites, because I have neither the time nor the money to try everything. I've been making my own jewelry for years, and have even begun selling some. I love needlecrafts, particularly crewel work. I've also gotten into quilting, both "traditional" and "art." I'll also embellish pretty much anything.
