My Environment
My home is animal-loving and smoke-free.

I've been married since April 1998 and I have 2 boys, 2 girls, 1 cat, and 1 dog.

My Identity
I'm a nerd, and I love books and words. I declared an English major in college (didn't finish, though). I'm your stereotypical Shakespeare-loving, dictionary-reading nerd. I'm a slightly techy/geeky Hibernophile that is proud of my Irish heritage, and very, very tired.

I live with mental and chronic illnesses. I live with Major Depressive Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Chronic Tension-Type Headaches, and Fibromyalgia.

I'm fascinated by tattoos and their stories. Please feel free to share pictures of your tattoos and tell me the stories behind them! I gave myself my first tattoo as a birthday present for my 39th birthday. It's a triskele on the inside of my left wrist.

I have long hair. I'm about 6" away from Classic length (just below the bum). My long-term goal is to grow it to my knees.

My Activity
I generally love to crochet, craft, read, and play Scrabble and Words With Friends (username 3stairs - feel free to start a game with me!). I especially love to nap!

I lead a multi-level Girl Scout troop that includes my daughters. I am participating in Cub Scouts with my youngest son as a Wolf Scout.

I enjoy giving gifts - that's why I joined Swap-bot. Nothing makes me happier as a swapper than when a partner is thrilled with what I sent. I'm open to private swaps; just send me a message with your swap idea!

My Philosophy
I believe in Scouting. I encourage all families to have their children participate in organizations that teach citizenship and service, whether it is Cub/Boy/Girl Scouts, Trail Life, American Heritage Girls, or any others. I think MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and Operation Christmas Child are incredibly awesome organizations.

I like to learn about other religions. Please feel free to share your beliefs with me so I can get to know you more. I am Christian, and I respect your right to your own beliefs. I read profiles for religious preferences, and usually don't send anything religious unless you state that you are Christian.
