Description:

This is open for anyone who celebrates the holiday of Imbolc or Candlemas. Since for a lot of Neo-Pagans this is a significant time please come into this knowing that and with a tolerant mind. Be aware that unless you specify otherwise you might get items intended for a Neo-Pagan type ritual. You must have a rating of 4.7 or higher and a nice sized profile with lots of detail as to what you like and dislike. Unfortunately this is not an international swap due to the fact that I know lots of people are lacking money after the big holiday season. Oh and anyone who is getting into this should have a understanding about what Imbolc is. If you do not already but are curious I suggest you go to this website: http://www.authorsden.com/categories/article_top.asp?catid=17&id=26897

Now the fun stuff:

Obviously we will be sending candles as many as you like but try and give enough to bring some light to the old alter. Like if your sending those thin magick candles send 5 but if your sending pillar candles 2 should do the trick. You can also send other light makers if you want to like sparklers, oil lamps, ect.

Send some incense or essential oil along with your package.

4 Items to symbolize each element. fire, Water, Earth and Air.

And then some more items of your choice. Some Ideas are: Images of Brigid, Any ritual tool, a wheel of cheese (must be irradiated so it keeps while sent through the mail), Brigid cross, Ivy, Blessings, Poems, bulbs, seeds, Anything from your partners profile.

Note: This does not have to be an expensive swap. You can buy most of these items for not to much, You can get your items used but of coarse in good condition and You can make a lot of what you send. This holiday is from a time where consumerism played no part in it, Lets preserve this as we carry it on.

So Lets have some fun!!! Peace and Light, ~Glorya

To my partner: If possible, please don't send me scented candles, anything else is fine! Don't go far out of your way for this request, if you only have scented, it's ok, I can trade them with a friend for unscented if I have to. Cyn

I would also like to request that my candles be scentless, but if it isn't possible make it lightly scented.

AWESOME! Brede is the patron goddess at the grove we go to! every imbolc we have a great time sharing our arts/crafts with each other, having ritual, and, of course, eating! :)

As a Solitary practitioner in a Bible-belt community, I am SOOOOOOOO looking forward to this swap! :) I can use all of the ritual items I can get, as most of my stuff has to be made by me (and who has the time with teenagers in the house!) or purchased online (which I do out of neccessity, but would much rather KNOW who has touched my stuff before I cleanse it.) This is such a great idea for a swap! I am so happy!! TO MY PARTNER: Send me whatever you want!:) I need lots! blessings, Gypsy

I am so glad that everyone is excited for this swap. I know I am. I have lots of tips on my profile of what I like but I am very open about what I like. :-)

i will love anything my partner sends me. scented/non scented stuff, it doesn't matter to me. this swap is so exciting for me. :D

I'm a Catholic who celebrates Candlemas within the Christian tradition. Would it be all right for me to join this swap, specifying that the ritual tools and such are not particularly useful to me? I used to be a practicing pagan and thus have no problem sending these items to others, just don't have a lot of use for them myself.

We will be celebrating Brigid. I have teenagers and will be making crafts throughout the day. Starting with Brigids cross, a candle wheel,a sun wheel, perhaps a grain dolly and a stone circle. Our divination of choice will be auras. We are having a brunch with swedish waffles and honey cakes, and sugar cookies.

Hello! I'm happy to join this swap and look forward to sending out some goodies. We celebrate Imbolc not because of our neo-pagan leanings (I'm a deist with Buddhist and pagan tendencies, but I don't worship any gods or keep an altar other than my hearth), but because of my Celtic heritige on my father's side!

We also celebrate because it's a good excuse to have a dinner party. I bake bread, make soup and we lament the long and terrible winter (which really hasn't been so terrible this year).

Anyway, cheers!

Its wonderful to hear about the many diffrent people who find something in this old holiday!!! Its also wonderful to see the way you celebrate it. As on everyone of the old celtic holidays I clean the house all spic and span and have a good wholesome feast. I set up an alter and do a ritual outside somewhere. This time I would like to do somekind of re-birth/clensing ritual.

In answer to geekphds question YES you are totally welcome. Just remember to specify what kinds of things are useful in your observation of candlemas/imbolc!

Peace to all, Glorya
