Description:

I use a lot of Bling in my doll projects, my initial monograms, and other "girly" things that I make. So I keep a lot of it on hand, but I am always in the market for something new.

For this swap, you will create one fully blinged-out large shipping style tag for one partner.

ETA: By large I am talking a number 7 or 8 size shipping tag. You do not have to buy your tags, you can make them. Here are standard tag sizes. If you use the smaller size tags, please include two of them for your partner.

Tag sizes

5 = 4- 3/4 x 2-3/8"

6 = 5-1/4 x 2-5/8"

7 = 5-3/4 x 2-7/8"

8 = 6-1/4 x 3-1/8"

The tag itself should be decorated and blinged out BEFORE you start to fill it with things like stick-on gems and jewels, glittered chipboard pieces, fancy ribbons and fibers, old/vintage jewelry bits and bobs, sparkly beads and buttons or stickpins, pearls, feathers, etc. You could include tiny vials of German Glass Glitter, or strings of seed pearls - anything that brings out your inner magpie.

Just make this the most outrageous little shiny showpiece you can dream up and that will make your partner squeal in delight when she sees it. Package it all nice and purdy in true Somerset Style and send it on or before the due date.

Shouldn't be a problem, but I will angel if necessary.

im not sure i understand this swap... normally a tag is a piece of paper like this: alt text

But in the description you are talking about filling it.. could you explain? By tag do you mean "box" or "envelope"?

It is an Inspiration tag and it is "filled" by wrapping it in trims and tucking items into - kind of like a magic yarn ball. You can use stickpins or glue dots to help hold items onto the tag. I have decorative Tim Holtz Tinkerer pins that I use to help hold items on. You can use old clip on earrings, anything that can be clipped to the tag or poked through it or taped to it. Definitely not an envie or box although if you want to include either of those items as extras, you may. The tag is to be the main focal and include the most important elements of the swap.

What size tag should we use? I have size #5 (4 3/4X2 3/8) on hand. Does the tag need to be bigger than that?

No, Ms, that size is fine, but I would not go any smaller. I usually use a #7, but I am not sure of the dimensions right off the top of my head for that size.
