I think she is trying to not have paper used because it is very hard to seal against water and damage over time

OK, I am more confused than usual. I'm making my magnet on top of a queen of hearts playing card. Is that not good? What can I use besides paper to build my magnet with and then it needs to be sealed? Help me Obie One, you're my only hope. =(

I think a playing card magnet sounds really cool! I think its fine for paper to be 'part' of the magnet, as long as it is a well made, decorative item. Playing cards are usually sort of laminated anyway, I wouldn't worry!
