Description:

I am so EXCITED about this swap and hope it works!

We all have fabric we just wont use, so I was thinking we could swap what we do not need anymore. Maybe fabric you liked in the store and got home and don't like as much as you did, so what do you do with that fabric ~ you swap it.

First you will mail out swatches of fabric (3" X 5" samples) of fabric you are willing to swap, You must have a YARD or more of the samples you will be sending to your one partner. Your partner will pick one sample of fabric from what you sent. They will let you know via PM(email). Second part of this swap is now you will send your partner a YARD or more of that fabric they picked out. Fabric must be a whole, uncut yard, one piece. If you want you can send more it is up to you.

1) You get a partner 2) Go through your fabric for 1 yard+ pieces of fabric you don't need or want 3) Cut a 3" X 5" sample piece of all you choices or ~ EMAILL YOU CHOICES TO YOUR PARTNER 4) Mail or (EMAIL) it to your partner 5) Once your partner picks their choice and lets you know 6) Mail out the fabric

I think it is a great idea for I have a lot of fabric someone else might really like.

PM me any questions......thank you!

I like this idea -- I presume if we have a piece that is just one yard and are willing to swap it, if it's what the partner would like she can expect that one yard piece minus the 3x5 chunk cut out of a corner. Correct?

Yes, I am so glad you like this idea. I love it, I have so much someone might be able to use. Thank you.

would it be okay to email photos of the fabric, instead of mail? for the first part?

Funny you should asked, I thought that would be a good way at first but you don't really get a good feel for the material. I would say ~ if your partner does not mind at all ~ sure you can send a pic, but your partner has to be okay with it. Hope that you will still join..... Kelly

People order fabric on the Internet via photos. I hate to ruin a yard of fabric by cutting a piece out of it. Emailing and saying it is 100 per cent cotton might be a good idea. If not cotton the swapper can say what it is.

I think it is a much better idea to email pictures and this way you only have to mail something once. I said send more for me, because if it isn't wool, I call everything cotton LOL. But I promise to describ in my email to my partner a full description of my fabric, thanks everyone!
