Spring/Easter Hat Pin cushion

Hi pin cushion lovers! I am posting a spring/Easter hat pin- cushion swap. I am giving a week for sign-ups and three weeks to complete and send your project. I am hoping that this might get you sewers/pin-cushioners out there inspired to be creative :-) At any rate, what i am looking for is a wide-brim type hat with the crown part as the pin cushion. There are a variety of ways to make one. The decoration options are endless. This pin cushion can be made from any material you wish, as long as it resembles a hat and is sturdy enough for real use. Don't forget to put a sturdy backing/bottom on it so that the pins won't push all the way through. Because this is a spring project, make it colorful, fun and indicative of the season it represents! Consult your partner's profile and try to include something he/she will enjoy, but it is really sender preference. Please send your best work- don't just slap together some fabric over a cushion and call it good. Make it something you'd like to receive. It's the little details of creativity that make a project unique and fun. Rating will be the standard : 5 for receiving a cushion that meets the swap requirements, 3 for sloppy work or late-sent packages. You know the rest, but I am hoping we have no flakers. I will angel this swap. Hearts are optional, but may be given for a cushion that goes above and beyond requirements, or thoughtful "extras." Swapper required rating is 4.5 and above.
