Nature Page #1

I don't know about you, but I'm ready to start thinking about spring! For this first nature-themed swap, let's do a "beginnings" theme--anything nature-oriented that suggests the start of spring. For this series I'm thinking more traditional or vintage botanical/animal images, rather than "cutesy" or scrapbooky interpretations.

Designing a page in this style is pretty basic. Layer your main image over "found" paper such as a sheet of music, a dictionary page, ledgers, the cover of a farmer's almanac, or vintage-looking scrapbook papers etc. Embellish your page with stamping, numbers/symbols, postage stamps or cancellation marks, text/found poetry etc. And don't forget to include a 3-D component to make your page "chunky." Finally, you should lightly decorate the back side of your page, and include your contact information.

If there's enough interest in ths swap, I'll host additional ones so you can put a book together. Other themes might include flowers, birds, butterflies and dragonflies, etc. If you have any topic suggestions, let me know!
