Description:

...that means everything! Use an old cereal box or something like that for the backing, then use things that would have gone into the trash bin or recycle barrel - candy wrappers, magazine clippings, postage stamps, privacy envelopes...

The goal is to keep those things out of the trash stream so make it so incredibly creative that your partner can't bear to part with it!

Don't worry, it's okay to use virgin glue!!

As always - send naked only - and tell your partner something you do to help take care of the environment.

So glue only? No markers, crayons, colored pencils, writing on the front?

i think you can embellish it a bit, though I think glitter would be out - unless it's recycled! :)

I agree! No glitter! My PO prefers tape covered pc. over glued stuff. Especially without envelope.

but knitmom, if you cover it with tape, don't they require you to send it with the non-machineable postage rate?

fwiw, I never cover my handmade postcards with tape. I don't always take them in to the counter (just when I need to double-check something), but i've never been told to tape on the ones I have taken in.

I just thought I'd add that Australia Post will post anything, I once posted a gum leaf once, and it arrived safely. I can't believe you have different postal rates so that machines can do the work!

actually, dappledgirl, the different (higher) postal rate is when people have to do the work... but they aren't consistent about it. Some postal clerks are real sticklers about what requires a non-machineable surcharge, but sometimes items that bear that surcharge still go through the machinery!
