I am not taking part in this swap as I am in UK, but I do have a question. I am intrigued by the 'bags' of drinks. You really can buy bags with a liquid hot drink in them? I assume they have to be microwaved to heat them?? As I am not in this swap and so won't be tracking it a PMd reply would be great thanks

I think what the host means is a bag of drink mix or loose tea in a bag. We cannot buy bags of liquid drinks here either.

OOPS! Yes, to clarify I did mean a tea, hot cocoa dry mix, and or coffee etc... Not the liquid itself.

You are not going to believe this but when Sally asked about the drink mix that heats I would've never thought there was such a thing. Today while at work I came across this hot cocoa or coffee in packaging that "Heats itself". I have yet to try it but they girls who were drinking it said it really is hot not just warm.

Who knew? Now, I don't know about you ladies but the ingredient that heats it called quicklime is pretty scary as far as human cosumption. Look it up on http://www.ontech.com they have information on the technology.

First thing I did was look it up on the net and wiki says that it is a caustic agent causing burns to the skin and respiratory problems if inhaled. How the FDA approved this I am not sure. But according to the site it never touches the drink.

On the container itself it says WARNING: Do not microwavenot pour out, bottom may steam or become hot, Place on heat-proof surface, Beverage is hot when prepared, do not activate if stored above 90 degress, use only as directed and do not reuse, do not use if damaged or emptied, do not alter or tamper with container with heating materials and last but not least In case of accidental contact with heating materials flush with generous amounts of water. That was a Mouth full huh?

So if you dare, the brand is Hillside and it comes in hot cocoa, coffee, and mocha latte.

I'm not able to join this swap this time around, but it really looks like fun! However, there's something you might want to check on. The swap host mentioned the possibility of sending via Media Mail. I may be mistaken, but I believe that if you send something Media Mail, it cannot have anything in the package other than the book, cassette tape, etc. Only "Media" items are allowed ... I don't think you're even allowed to enclose a letter. If this is correct, sending along the hot drink mix, teabag, etc. would not be allowed. Just thought you might want to check into this before you sent any package thru Media Mail. Have fun with the swap, everyone!

liregudesigns-Lisa, Received your package today. Thanks for all the nice extras. I haven't read that book so it will be lovely. The tea is great as my hubby is a huge tea drinker. Love cinnamon and apple.. especially around this time of year. -added pic to gallery (it's HUGE though)note to self- find a photo editor... :)
