What to do with swaps you receive that do not speak to your taste or style?

There's a magic when someone reads your profile and sends you a thoughtful, heartfelt package. But sometimes, people either unintentionally miss, or worse, don't seem to pay attention. These items always make me feel sad and even having them around is stressful. I never know what to do with these things. If this has happened to you, then pass 'em along in this swap!

This is a two part swap. Part 1 is sender's choice. Send any unwanted items to your partner. No hurt feelings here, even if the sent item was originally sent by you. This is where you unburden yourself. Let it go. Move on. Ideally, this will be a treasure to your partner. If you can send something you think they will like, please do. But obviously, that may not happen. It goes without saying, but nothing dirty, torn, smelly or otherwise unuseable. Do check for allergies and try not to send things they also dislike, but the intention of this part is for the sender to start anew with a clear heart. Yes, you'll get some stuff that obviously someone else didn't want, but you may like it, and, at least it wasn't something meant for you that missed the mark. Send at least the equivalent amount that would fit into a small flat-rate box but it can be sent parcel post if that's cheaper, or in a bubble mailer. Package appropriately so as not to send unwanted and broken goods.

Part 2, however, IS profile-based. In the midst of all the flotsam and jetsom of your unwanted goods, send a profoundly thoughtful gift to your partner. Read their profile carefully, channel your inner Santa, and send them something that will absolutely delight them. This item will be new, spend about $3, and wrap it so it stands out amidst the debris. Handmade is fine if it would delight your partner. Make this an act of kindness to remedy the times other swappers didn't pay attention.

Add a note to your partner, not just your name and the swap name. Tell them why you didn't like what you sent and tell them why you thought they would love their gift. Send New Year's wishes.

You must have completed twenty package swaps (type 3) swaps to participate. I reserve the right to ban swappers with a questionable history.

May you have fun, be at peace, and be filled with joy.

I have a box of "things I've received that just aren't my style, but yet I hate to throw them away, so what a PERFECT swap!

A box was sent out to my partner today via USPS parcel post. Enjoy!
