Description:

In not too long, it'll be that time of year when we celebrate the birth of an important deity in our culture! As it happens, I just got some colorful, kitschy deity postcards in the mail today. So I was thinking, "I should share the wealth...I should host a swap in which we send each other colorful, kitschy deity postcards!" So here it is.

Send one colorful, kitschy postcard featuring any deity at all--or multiple deities! to each of 2 partners. Naked, unless your partner seriously wants it in an envie. Storebought or handmade, doesn't matter.

What do I mean by "colorful"? It's in the eye of the beholder.

What do I mean by "kitschy"? Eye of the beholder.

What do I mean by "deity"? Well, of course, Buddha & Mother Earth count. And the Virgin Mary. In fact, if you're unsure of whether the card you're considering really features a deity, send it anyway. I mean, Elvis is a deity to some people, right? (Not to offend anyone...)

In other words: "deity"? Eye of the beholder.

I'm givin' you 4 weeks after sign-ups to hunt down your postcards, in case you want to order 'em like I did. But do check 'n' see if any of your partners are international, because you should send earlier to those, if you want them to arrive before Christmas.

Oh! and don't forget you can always make a notecard into a postcard--lots of Christian deity notecards floating around this time of year... Have fun!

Just in case anyone's wondering where I got the postcards I mention in the swap, I got them at Lucky Mojo . Mine are Hindu--they have lots of Hindu postcards, but I'm not sure about other religions. They do carry a lot of Catholic stuff, but if Christianity is what you're lookin' for, you'll have to explore that area yourself.

By the way, I think saints should count, don't you--I mean, as long as it's a colorful, kitschy saint postcard? =big grin=

If you think 2 partners is too many, I'll happily change it to 1.

"Amazing"? "Weird"? Hey! Eye of the beholder.

Cool website! @melusina I went to order the postcard pack for $10.00 and they wanted to charge $10.00 shipping.. to send 10 postcards from California to Florida... I almost choked on my soda. LOL

Uhh...sorry about that! @shabbypink123 -- I guess I didn't pay much attention to the shipping costs, because I ordered a big heavy candle, too... for what it's worth (not much) my package came really fast.

In case folks are having a hard time finding postcards that are colorful, kitschy & packed w/ deities, don't forget you can always make your own postcards by scanning a colorful, kitschy deity picture, printing it out, and gluing it to cardboard!
