How many Friendship Books do you have circulating right now? That's a rhetorical question...you can never have too many! (And if you have none...this is your chance to get started.) It's time for a fun and crafty FB swap for all. Participants will be creating **3 new Friendship Books (1 per partner) to start circulating in the wide world of pen pals! These FB's should be small but sturdy, and should express the creativity and workmanship of their creators. Good Friendship-Book Tips Use quality Card Stock for the front/back covers. Add personal touches - make 'em unique & attractive. Keep them small - you should be able to fit one or two into an envelope so they can be sent along with letters for relatively low postage. If you need further information on FB's to get you started: About Friendship Books Wikipedia Entry on FBs These are mostly sender's choice. FB's can be any theme, and can be made FOR someone else if the creator prefers. Just make sure your work is quality! Don't simply slap some stickers on paper and call it done. You'll have 3 weeks after sign-up to complete these little beauties! That's 1 per week if you're feeling EXTRA crafty. Participant Requirements: RATED swappers with a 4.9 rating or higher & TWO completed Type 3 swaps. (I will check before assigning partners) Please ensure that you can follow-through if you sign-up... You will have 3 partners, and this is international. Thanks! I don't expect any flakers, but I will angel if necessary. One lucky participant will be randomly selected to receive a small, flat-rate box STUFFED** with notecards and a hot drink sachet! (=^ï½°ï¾Ÿ)ï¾‰ Now let's make some Friendship Books!

I really want to join but need to check out the links first as I've never made a fb before and I'm not sure if I'm able to do 3 by the deadline...wouldn't want to join if I couldn't do it! Xx

Yippie! I love FBs, still new to them but they are fun :)

@mum2boys82 When I made my first ones, I had not yet seen any FB's so I just did my best and really really stressed over it hehehe. Now that I've seen other people's FB's, it's just a lot easier! :) Check Flickr for friendship books too, some good ideas and you can get some inspiration.

Friendship Books really are cake if you're feeling inspired. :)

Most of the time they are just a few sheets of paper stapled together and decorated nicely. I made a small handful the other day while cleaning up my crafting supplies.

I do hope you'll check out the links and decide it's feasible.

OK I have no idea what a type 3 swap is, but I've done a few swaps and I really have been interested in doing some FBs. I hope I'm allowed to participate!

I am really intrigued by the idea of friendship books but am having a hard time understanding what goes in them. The links your provided show great pictures of covers (really creative) but no pictures of the inside pages. If you know of a place to see pictures of the insides as well as the covers it would help me fully understand just what goes into them. That way I would know if I am really up to the challenge.

I also don't know what a type 3 swap is, but I have been in every kind from postcards to large boxes of stuff, so I think I am ok. I have never made friendship books before, so mine might a little lame, so I ask my partners go easy on me :) mine are already finished!

@mommaviv from what I understand, when you make an FB- you put YOUR address on the inside cover/front page (maybe other bits of info?) and then all the pages in the book are meant for the people it visits to put THEIR info on. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but at least that's what I gathered.

quick question- I was wondering, when we receive the FBs from our partners, we put info in them and then send them out to someone else or back to them?

You should add your address label or neatly write your personal info on the first page, and then send them along to a different person. :) The book's owner won't get their book returned until it's full.

Once you collect a few FBs, you can usually trade them off in a private swap with another person, or join another FB swap here on the bot.

Mine will be a few days late (will be mailed on Monday).... for some reason, i didn't realize the mail doesnt run on saturdays? I got to the post office and it was closed! I had quite a LOT to mail out today, too /-_-\ .
