Description:

This is for a 32 ct matchbox with a clear plastic sleeve/cover. Alternatively, if you do not have a sheet of acetate, you may add other stiff clear plastic to a large window un the sleeve of your matchbox. I reuse that 'hard to cut into' clamshell plastic all the time. You can get individual sheets of acetate at almost any copy store very cheaply. Inside the matchbox, create a scene. The scene can be viewed from the top looking down like a bird's-eye view or when the box is upright. The scene doesn't have to be realistic if you wish, it can be more of a collage if you prefer.

Feel free and add design elements to either or both sides of the plastic for dimension. Clear drying glue is essential for this. You can also place things inside the box freestanding (or that appear freestanding) or hanging rather than being glued to the bottom of the drawer. You must have at least one element that is either freestanding, hanging or attached to the plastic. You can use foam dots to create the look of freestanding elements without creating an actual stand.

If you are looking for tiny elements to add inside, try Jese James buttons at craft stores. I know Michaels has them. They are technically buttons but they are 3-D, come in many themes, are the perfect size and are about $4 per pack.

If you decide to do a window rather than a full plastic sleeve, then create the window as large as possible to get an effect as close as possible to a full plastic sleeve. We should really be able to see the entire inside.

Need Ideas? Underwater, a meadow with a bird flying overhead (hanging element), glue fabric to the sleeve for theatre curtains and add characters inside, a beach, family game night, nature walk, music, jewelry box, use curtains again and recreate the view from one of your windows, baby's room, steampunk collage, garden, bug catcher, little girls/boys drawer.

Stickers, AS ACCENTS, should be limited to high quality scrapbooking or card making stickers, not the kind meant for kids or teacher’s reward stickers.

If you use rubber stamping, please stamp cleanly; missed areas or double lines are not acceptable. Please do not use computer generated images or sentiments because I have been very disappointed by images printed in very poor quality lately. (If you print them well using very good quality paper and ink, your partner won’t know and can’t rate you badly for it can they?? Wink wink!)

Please make a beautiful matchbox you are proud of and would be thrilled to receive. Make sure your work is clean and precise. No glue should show and straight cuts need to be straight.

Please don't be discouraged by my rules. I am only referring to general tidy practices, not tiny flaws. I've received a card so saturated with glue I could knock on it and get hollow noises! I've received a note book with edges that looked like they had been cut with a saw! I just expect tidy work!

Please check your partner’s profile for dislikes and avoid those. For instance, do not put bugs on mine because I hate bugs and that is on my profile.

Please have a 4.95+ rating to join and no 1's EVER or 3's in the last 6 months. I will accept explanations of course, PM me ahead of the sign up deadline. Newbies are welcome with WELL FILLED out profiles (About Me, Likes, Dislikes at least) and MUST PM me at least 3 days before the end of the swap to show good intentions. A newbie is someone with less than 5 completed and rated type 2 or 3 swaps. If you see a flaker has joined, don't worry, I will weed them out. If you are really worried, give me a heads up! I’ve only been a member since March and been flaked on too many times, I've stopped keeping track, so I get it!

So we put a clear piece just on the top like a window....and then do the inside like a diorama?
