Description:

I am totally enthralled with Mail Art these days. I noticed that the group could use another swap for the month of September and thought this may be fun! You will have two partners.

There are three requirements for this "Inventive" swap.

  • Create an "inside-out-art-elope" to send your swap in. Simply turn a security envelope inside out and embellish. I just love to make these. For more information on how to create these click here.

  • Make a mail themed ATC. I challenge you to try a new techniqe or do something "inventive" on your card. Perhaps try painting a background, use an image transfer technique or include an interactive feature.

  • Include a small mail art surprise that will inspire your partner. This could be: used stamps, air mail stickers, faux postage, a handmade envie, postage emphemera, a mail themed zine etc. Keep it small enough to include it in your altered envie.

Swap will need to be sent by the end of the month, but you can your creative process now as this is sender's choice. Please only commit to the swap if you can meet the reqirements on time. Players must be in excellent swap standings, fully filled out profile and recent login.

I want to sign up but I need tips on what to do with the little window in the envie.....do you just stick a little label over it?

Yes, I often stick a label over the window, as I did in the examples pictured above. Another option is to create your own 'label' by attaching a piece of paper over (and sometimes under...on the inside) the window. Just remember to choose something you can still read the address on, if you still choose to write the address there. Many of mine are also 'upside down.'

Hope this helps!

This looks super awesome- can't wait!

I'm watching for now, as my September is going to be busy, but I usually just leave the security window alone and put the address label somewhere else, and love the way the note or items peek through the window. :)

Great suggestion @craftgasm

This looks like fun but I've got to find one of those security envelopes first...
