Description:

I love vintage images! Women, children, animals, old signs and advertisements, you name it. This swap will be an electronic swap. You will have 20 partners and you will email at least one PDF file or collage sheet (images can be in jpg format also) of vintage ephemera images. Make sure there are at least 10 images on the file. I am not sure about resolution size, you could possible try printing out the file before you send it to see if it is usuable. This is sender's choice and should be fairly easy because you can send the same file to all partners in one email. Please be respectful of others wishes about no nudity and other dislikes. Please make sure these images are not copyrighted and are available for public domain use.

No recent 1s or 3s, but this swap is newbie friendly. Hope some of you swappers love vintage images just as much as I do!

Not sure how to make a PDF file, but a great idea!!

I don't know how to either, but I have a whole disk full of pin up images, oh well! :)

Well I have a Mac and say if I inserted the images into a word document, then went to print it, there should be a button that says save as.....and you can click pdf file. You can also do the same from a regular jpg or png file. Click Save as....and you should be able to change the format. Not sure if it is the same for PCs, but should be fairly similar. :)

If you will google the word....convert image pdf.... you will get a simple tool that will do this for you. It is a free download.

Please, no pin-up girls or sexy images for me.

So what I'm not clear about is how many images do we send? I could send a bunch or just one. Seems this should be clarified or a minimum given.

Also, what resolution should the images be in to be uuseful? I often find lovely downloads that are to pixelated or way to small resolution. It is easy to down-size but impossible to up-size.

ok I edited the swap about the number of images

High resolution 300 DPI and always saved 100 % is the requirement for good printable and usefull images.

smilinthyme 08/25/2010 #

Pin ups with bikini are ok, but not as all of the images.

Can I just send vintage image collage sheets??? I have a ton.

ccomrie23 08/26/2010 #

I have a question (may be it sounds silly) but what do you consider vintage ephemera? For me vintage is the end of 19 century, Victorian Style, or older, the beginning of 20th, but not after mid 20th century. What are you thoughts?

ccomrie23 08/28/2010 #

anything "old", I think of vintage as what you said victorian style, end of 19th century, plus retro images. Things such as the vintage housewives that usually have a funny saying, but I do have some neat black and white postcards from the 1940s, plus a vintage kids magazine from the 1950s. I think whatever you interpret it as is fine.

Sounds great. I have a great collection of antique prints, I think it is going to be a very exciting swap. Looking forward to it.
