Description:

This swap is for anyone who loves their Library! As a librarian and avid reader, I do not know where I would be without mine. With the recent downturn in the economy libraries were hit especially hard so I think it is time to show them some love!

For this swap you will actually have 2 partners. One of which will be a swap-bot member and the other will be to a random library to show our support.

You will send out one postcard to each of your partners. The subject can be anything (though if you have one of your library that would be awesome!).

On the backside you will write "I love my library because..." and finish the statement. You may include more wording on the one to your swap-bot partner, but please try not to include too much to the library (because I want our "I love my library" statements to really stand out.)

Recap: 2 postcards of any theme (store bought or handmade). Send one to each partner ( one from swap-bot and one to the library) with your "I love my library" statement on the back.

Requirements: Anyone with high ratings and no recent 1 ratings will be accepted. I have the right to refuse anyone I feel may flake. Also, this swap shows love to the Newbies as they are free to join with a well filled out profile.

This time around we are sending postcards to Camden Free Public Library. They are facing the closure of three of their branches. It is a shame and I think we need to show them support!!

Library Address: Camden Free Public Library C/O Circ Staff 418 Federal Street Camden, NJ 08103

Thanks and Happy Swapping!

I love being able to walk minto my library and say something like, "Who wrote that book about those lovers in Czecheslovakia... what was it called?" And the librarian says, "Oh yes I know the one you mean," and walks into the stacks and hands it to me.

Haha. Yes we librarians have a way of doing that. The only time I am not able to help people is when they can only tell me what the cover looks like. "It was a red cover...about...well I dont remember what it was about I just remember it was good." That can be frustrating, but otherwise finding a book that someone wants is a really rewarding thing!
