"My" Mail Art :)

Here we go!!!!

Okay, for our first group swap I thought we should try to find out a little about our co-members. What better way to do that than to send some one-of-a-kind mail art created by you and ALL ABOUT YOU?!

We're all good at something, and we all prefer different mediums to create with. Some of us are good at drawing or sketching, some at painting, stamping, mixed media, etc. Some of us just like to decorate the heck out of an envie! For this swap, we will create 2 mail art pieces for each of 2 partners, for a total of 4 pieces.

This is the part that's all about you: make 2 envies (1 for each partner) & decorate them in your special, one-of-a-kind way, doing what you're best at. Decorate/create as if you were sending it to yourself so your partner can see what you're like & get an idea of who you are. You can write quotes you love, draw, adhere pictures..anything! (I'm not trying to tell you how to make your own mail art :) This will be the envelope you send in the mail. No size requirement, as long as its mailable.

Next make/decorate 2 postcards OR envelopes (again, 1 for each partner) however you wish. These pieces can be as much or as little about you as you'd like. You can try a new technique, or make something based on your partners likes, favorite colors, etc. This one should be as special as the first, but unique in its own way. Its sender's choice to do a postcard or an envie; most of us prefer one to the other.

The 2nd piece will be inside the envie for your partner to use later, or keep, if they want; make sure they'll fit inside the first envelopes you made.

If you do something really random or abstract, you might want to enclose a note about it. At the least, write a short note with the swap name & your name, user-name, etc. Since its mostly sender-based and you can start anytime, I'm giving equal time to sign-up & to send, for a total of 3 weeks.
