Number of swap partners:5
Description:
  • reduced number of partners to 5 so you will not spend so much on postage
  • i am NOT going to restrict the color choices so everyone can specify what he likes or plans for christmas, what matches his home decor etc.

For all of you who love to think about the Christmas almost since 1st of January, here is a "little" warm up ;)

For each of your partners create at least one (if its something elaborate that takes lot of time) or three or more (if you will use some fast technique) christmas tree decorations in color (or color combinations) specified by them in comments.

Use any technique or combination of techniques you like and dont be afraid to experiment, anything that can be hanged on christmas tree is fine :-)

Time for crafting: TWO AND HALF MONTHS

To participate you must have at least 5 type 3 rated swaps. Anyone suspicious will be removed.

If you want to end up with matching set of decorations, please post your prefered color or color combination into swap comments. If you dont post any until swap deadline, then your partner is allowed to use any colors they will want.

If you dont like/hate some of the usual christmas motifs or strongly prefer some, put it in comments also.

As the number of partners was reduced to make the postage more afordable, I have deleted some comments related to previous number of partners so It will not confuse anyone. I hope it will be ok now. Anyway noone hangs on christmas tree heavy stuff so postage should be cheap. In case you can not send from your country small parcel cheaply, then try to make some flat decoration or something that can be sent flat and assembled according to your instructions very fast into 3D decoration.

Thanks for reducing the number of partners. I will sign up when I have cleared some other swaps. Probably today or tomorrow.

I would LOVE any duck or chicken ornaments, any "beard" related ornaments (for my husband), any recycled material ornaments (like with bottlecaps, etc) Thanks!!!(:

Sounds like plenty of time --- until you think about being away from your art room for a month, then hubby will have a hip replacement - too much stress to be arty. That leaves maybe two weeks to create. With that consideration, will one ornament be okay? I plan to do collage/decoupage.

For me, traditional - Santa, angels, snowmen. Thanks.

It would be hard for me to advise each of you based on the technique, how much you are crafty, things happening in your life etc, .... So I suggest that when you will choose technique you want to use (or after you finish the first piece), just ask yourself, would it be piece of cake to make more then one piece? If the answer will be definitelly yes, please do more.

However if possible. please try not to leave absolutelly everything for last weekend before deadline ;-)

I just want to avoid that someone would complain that they got something that is extremely cheap, simple and can be done in few minutes although they spent sooo much time and effort on their own piece.

Please no Santa Claus (and santa claus related things like candy canes, raindeer, nuckrackers and elves) in my country are Christmas presents from baby Jesus. However also except angels no religous topics please ;-) . Anything else is welcome :-D
