This is a writing prompt swap, the third in a series based on writing prompt in the book "Story Starters." See below for author info. Write a scene or a story using any one of the following prompts: a) Your character finds a note on the fridge. It says, "Your brother and I have fallen in love. We are going to Alaska. I am sorry." b) She/he refused to open the registered letter. She/he knew what was in it. c) Your character's name is Hope. She has just moved to the city. She's homesick and broke when she meets a man in the park who promises to solve all her problems. Send a partner a typed copy of your scene or story. Snail mail. International. Group membership SPECIAL NOTE: This swap is based on an exercise in a great book that I encourage you to read, especially those who love writing prompts. "Story Starters" by Lou Willett Stanek, Ph.D. ISBN 0-380-79552-3 The sub-title of the book is: "How to jump-start your imagination, get your creative juices flowing, and start writing your story or novel." I bought it several years ago, so I'm not sure if there's an updated edition, but that's the ISBN on my copy. |
