Description:

Thanks to @pyxidragon for the idea for this one!

For this swap, you will be delving into the wonderful world of image transferring to alter an existing work of art. Pick an image of an established "masterpiece" (can be a painting, sculpture, I'll even allow architecture - but think relatively well known works of art), and using the image transfer technique of your choice (I'll post a few links here and also a companion post to the group), transfer it to an ATC and, in pyxi's words, "change the heck out of it". Add colors, embellishment, pen & ink, paint - a moustache perhaps? Go nuts.

Send one ATC to one partner. Remember, make something you'd be happy to receive. These swaps are for introducing people to various techniques and getting out of our crafting comfort zones to try something new, so don't worry if this is your first time - it's probably someone else's first time, too. Be adventurous in your work and courteous in your sending. Send on time, and as always, contact me if there's an issue.

This swap is open to all members of ATC's for N00bs and is international.

Links for information on image transfer techniques (I've tried the packing tape way - it's pretty neat!)

I'll post more in a related group discussion post.

Packing tape link.

Liquitex link.

For those averse to cutting and pasting. :)

So, can we just use a print-out of the masterpiece? Or do we have to do a transfer?

I'd really like everyone to try the transfer techniques. I haven't played much with using the acrylic medium, but even just the packing tape transfer is pretty easy and gives interesting results.
